I don’t know about you, but my stays at five-star hotels have been few and far between — in my case only once (so far). On a family trip when I was 15, we made our way down to Florida, and my parents decided to splurge on a three-day stay at a fancy hotel in St. Augustine. The architecture? Breathtaking. The view? Mesmerizing. The room? Unforgettable. Now, I was familiar with the lore around five-star bedding, and while it was one of the best nights of sleep I’ve ever had, it wasn’t the sleep setup that stayed with me all these years. It was the bathroom spread, specifically the bath towels. These towels were everything I wanted them to be: oversized, fluffy, soft, absorbent… I could go on for days. They were more than towels, really; they were an experience. In the years following, I searched in vain for something that could even come close to the luxury of those towels without breaking the bank, only to be continuously disappointed — until I tried the Fluff Co. As I unpackaged the towel, I felt excitement rush over me — as well as familiarity. Standing there, holding that towel, I was instantly transported back to St. Augustine, 2010. Everything was the same: the weight, the softness, even the border detail looked similar. That night, as I stepped out of the shower, I giddily wrapped myself in this towel and remembered why I fell in love with the first one all those years ago. Its oversized design (I’d liken it to a bath sheet) meant I could easily wrap myself up in its cozy plushness, and as I unraveled myself from that first wrap, I was shocked to find myself essentially dry — without so much as a pat. After I hung it back on the rack, I continued with my nightly skincare routine and found that when I went to dry my hands afterward, the towel was already almost dry! I was smitten and I couldn’t wait to tell everybody.
The Fluff Co. Hotel Towel comes in at $50, which at first glance can seem like a jarring price for a single towel. However, when you take into account that its counterparts at hotels like The Ritz Carlton and The Four Seasons go for $75 and $125 respectively, $50 is more than worth it for a piece this luxurious.
