I’m a big picture person. Also, quite literally, I have a lot of big pictures in my home. When it comes to decor, I love statement pieces that make people stop, stare, and offer opinions. As it turns out, it’s the little things that can end up making the biggest impression on guests, and even my housemate and I as we simply move about our living space. The reviews are in and, much to the chagrin of my ego as a wannabe interior decorator, the most impressive thing in my home is my Kassatex Assisi Textured Hand Towel.
While I never thought I’d be competing against a bathroom hand towel for attention, I get it with this one. The Assisi towel by editor-fave linens brand Kassatex is not only striking, with white hanger loop stitches woven atop a subtle background color creating a unique pebble pattern, but it’s near indecently soft, too. The 100 percent long staple Aegean cotton material absorbs in seconds, so you’re left there to linger with the towel, just appreciating its luxurious feel. Seriously. I’ve caught my guests doing this (but could also be confessing).
I also have the bath towel and washcloth sizes, which I keep far and away from the guest linens and hoard for my own use (if you know me, good luck finding them). The absorption rate is incredible and I often find myself still wrapped up in the bath towel long after my shower since it’s light as a cloud and somehow doesn’t feel wet after drying. So everything my guests have said about their experience with our bathroom hand towel, from how pretty to how soft to how they want some of their own, I can’t really argue with.
The collection is available in four muted jewel tone colors in addition to an all-white version, so every bathroom in your house can have one on display and still suit the decor perfectly. I plan to grab more to keep myself and my visitors happy, but to give as gifts as well since they can be monogrammed for just $7 more. Who doesn’t love a lush, plush, pretty, and personalized towel?
Do I sometimes wish such a person existed and they’d visit my home? Sure. Am I a little jealous of the acclaim this hand towel has earned against my collection of adorable tchotchkes and homemade life-sized paintings? To be determined. But my Assisi hand towels can only stand to multiply, so it’s just something to aspire to, I guess.

I tend to have a strict policy on how I use towels. For one, I usually replace them often (never using a towel beyond two to three days in a row), and I always have a separate towel on hand to dry my face. In the past, I’ve also made it a point to have a clear line of separation between my bathroom towels and my beach towels — that was, until I tried Brooklinen’s new Hamman Towel. What I thought was strictly a beach towel turned out to be incredibly soft and absorbent, and it just may find its rightful place in my bathroom.
After I received my package, it didn’t take long to sell me on the fact that these towels, made of 85 percent Turkish cotton, were the real deal. The gorgeous striped design is easy on the eyes (I opted for the Cool Mint colorway) and the material is immediately soft to the touch, even before it goes in the wash. And because I immediately throw new towels and bedding into the washing machine before using them, I was pleased to see them get even softer afterwards. So far, so good!
I discovered the real magic of these super-absorbent towels during a recent beach trip with my sister and five-year-old nephew. It was an impromptu stop during a 90-degree day, and my sister mistakenly forgot to bring towels of her own. As a result, all three of us ended up having to share the Brooklinen Hammam Towel I brought. Surprisingly, it kept us all dry after our swim and didn’t become sopping wet like we expected. In fact, it dried rather quickly by the time we packed up our beach bag. To say I was stunned would be an understatement. It was then that I knew this towel was the real deal. As if the absorbency wasn’t enough of a selling point, I also love that this towel measures 40″ x 70″, which is the perfect size if you’re using this to lay out on (which we did after drying off).
After our beach day, I was curious to see how the Brooklinen towel would fare as a bath towel. Similar to its performance at the beach, it ended up being one of the fastest drying towels I’ve ever used. I love the ample size of the fabric, which gives me more surface area to dry my hair and body. The terry cloth side of the towel is so heavenly soft and is just the thing you want to be wrapped up in after a hot shower. So far, I’ve washed this towel three times and I’ve noticed no pilling or unraveling of the terry cloth. When it’s all dry, this towel folds flat and fits easily into the linen closet without much bulkiness. Unlike other towels I’ve tested and shared with my family, this is one that I want to keep all to myself.
Though the Brooklinen Hammam Towel is a bit on the pricier side, I won’t hesitate to buy it again in different colors. Suffice it to say, I think I’ve found my favorite summer splurge.

Macy’s exclusive Hotel Collection is one of the best sources for hotel-quality bath and bedding essentials, and it includes a few standout items we think are worth stocking up on whenever they go on sale. Case in point: The Hotel Collection Turkish Bath Towel, which has hundreds of five-star ratings, and today, it also happens to be almost 50 percent off with promo code SAVE! This is one of the best deals we’ve seen on this luxe, spa-like towel for a while, but you’ll have to act fast if you want to score one (or 20) of these amazing towels at a steal.
So what makes these towels so great? They’re made from pure Turkish cotton in a bouncy terry loop weave, giving them a super soft and luxuriously plush feel as well as superior absorbability. Plus, they’re available in lots of soothing colors that look great whether you’re looking to get a new matching set of towels or mix things up with two or more complementary colors. But don’t just take our word for it!
“The Hotel Collection is my go-to,” one megafan of these towels wrote in a review. “I have these towels in a few different colors and they are loved by us as well as guests. They wash and dry beautifully, will outlast any set of towels you have ever had, and they don’t get that rough scratchy feel after numerous washings.” Other reviewers agree that The Hotel Collection Turkish Towels retain their plushness far longer than similarly priced luxury towels, with one happy buyer confirming, “I bought these towels a couple of years ago and just coming here to say they are just as great as day one.” Another reviewer reports that these towels have stayed in great shape for a decade, and she only replaced them because she was ready for a new color. Fair enough, and very impressive.
So, consider these towels an instant, long-lasting classic. In addition to this generously sized bath towel, an even larger bath sheet, hand towels, and washcloths are also on sale. Reviewers have noted that that the hand towel is actually big enough to be used as a bath towel for kids, and the washcloth seems to be particularly popular for anyone with sensitive skin since it’s so soft and gentle. So as one reviewer who says they “can’t live without these towels now” puts it: “Go ahead, spoil yourself, you deserve it.”
