After the year we’ve had, we all could use a few good laughs. Whether you drop some dough on the most luxe cable packages, or you prefer to squeeze by on your cousin’s account, everyone needs a few good shows to watch when they’re just looking to chill out on the couch. Here’s a look at some favorite comedies returning to the airwaves this fall, and where to binge watch older episodes beforehand.

Brought to you by Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney, a.k.a. two of your favorites from FX’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Mythic Quest” is the story of the inner workings of a fictional video game studio. It has all the classic drama of a traditional workplace series, with plenty of added humor thrown in. While there’s no exact date announcement for its season three premiere, it’s definitely set to return this fall.

Skyrocketing to popularity since its 2021 premiere, “Abbott Elementary” returned for its highly-anticipated season two on September 21. The mockumentary-style show, which has received critical acclaim,  follows the lives of teachers at an underfunded Philadelphia elementary school. Full of heart and tons of laughter, you’re going to want to catch up on this one before it returns.

It’s weird, it’s hilarious, it’s finally returning. The mockumentary series, created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and a variety of your other favorite comedians, is heading back to IFC (and AMC+) this fall for its fourth season. Whether you’re a fan of the docs they’re spoofing or just love Armisen and Hader’s humor, don’t miss “Documentary Now!’s” brilliant comedy when it returns October 19.

Adapted from the British series, “Ghosts” follows a married couple who buy a country house and discover it’s filled with (wait for it) ghosts. There’s only one season out so far, so you can tear through that in plenty of time for its season two premiere on CBS on September 29.

While it tiptoes right over the comedy/drama line and back again, there’s no denying that “Dead to Me” can be flat-out hilarious. The story of a friendship between a widow (queen Christina Applegate) and another woman she meets in a support group (“Freaks and Geeks” alum Linda Cardellini), it’s full of cliffhangers that leave you on the edge of your seat. The third season returns November 17.

If there’s a world without Wendi McLendon-Covey, we don’t want to live in it. Known first for “Reno 911” and “Bridesmaids,” McLendon-Covey brings the laughter as the matriarch of the family in season 10 of ABC’s hit series, which returns on September 21. If you’re nostalgic for the ’80s or just have a thing for bad hairdos and unfortunate fashion choices, consider bingeing the previous nine seasons.

In the chance that you haven’t watched “Inventing Anna” yet, the fictionalized story of Anna Delvey’s massive grift is perfect for a rainy day binge. Based on the New York Magazine article, it follows Delvey, who claims to be an heiress, as she scams Manhattan out of millions and leaves a trail of devastated “friends” in the dust. Connie Britton can do no wrong, and she hits it out of the park in “Dirty John,” the Bravo series based on the popular podcast of the same name. She plays a designer looking for love in Southern California who is swept up by a handsome doctor, played by Eric Bana. The problem? He’s everything he says he’s not, with deadly results. There’s also a great supporting cast that includes Juno Temple, Julia Garner, and Jean Smart.

Want a deep dive? Listen to the brilliant The Dropout podcast, or even grab a copy of reporter John Carreyrou’s book, “Bad Blood.” (He’s even a character in the TV series.) If a Parisian vacation isn’t in your budget, you can still have your mind blown by the French drama in “Lupin,” the story of a professional thief who is avenging his father’s death. It’s filled with disguises, drama and jewel heists that will have you itching to continue on to part two, which was released on Netflix last year. While Arsène Lupin is not based on a real person, he does have some backstory. Created in 1905 by Maurice Leblanc, he was featured in about 20 novels and short stories by the author that you can devour after finishing the show.

This “Stranger Things” Lawn Decor on TikTok Recreates an Iconic Season 4 Scene

Halloween is more than a month away, but already, someone has won the season’s best lawn decor.

Over on TikTok, a Halloween ornament has gone viral after it successfully recreated that iconic scene from “Stranger Things,” wherein Max Mayfield is floating up in the air as she struggles against Vecna in the Upside Down.

In the video, you can see a mannequin dressed to look like Max levitating above a woman. What’s mindblowing about the lawn decor is that it doesn’t seem to be propped up on a platform or attached to a wire.

Suffice to say, the illusion has baffled and impressed many. “#001 fan for sure,” commented Netflix’s TikTok account, while Fallon Tonight added: “This is amazing!”

When asked how they did it, owners Dave and Aubrey said that they’ll reveal their secret soon. That hasn’t stopped everyone from speculating, with some believing that the prop is attached to a fish wire and a tree that’s hidden off-frame, while others say it involves a mannequin made out of pool noodles to keep Max’s weight down.

The couple is not yet done weaving their sorcery, either. They’re still coming out with new pieces, such Vecna’s grandfather clock and those tentacles commonly seen in the Upside Down.

Give them a follow to see their complete setup come Halloween . If you’re in the neighborhood, don’t forget to bring your Kate Bush cassette with you!

These Are the Most Desirable Fictional Movie Homes

While some fictional homes are filmed in back lots and movie studios, a good percentage of the homes we see on the silver screen actually exist IRL. From rom-coms to horrors, the team at Ruby Home conducted a study to find out the most desirable homes in the movie world.

Turns out, the most sought-after home is the Cullen house from “Twilight”. The franchise has been having somewhat of a resurgence on social media since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, so it’s no surprised that the Oregon-based vampire home has taken the number one spot.

Although you can’t currently own the home for yourself—according to Velvet Ropes, Nike designer John Hoke purchased the home for $2.5 million earlier this year—you can rent the Swan residence on Airbnb. Bella’s house is located in Saint Helen’s, Oregon, and looks exactly like it did in the movies. With five bedrooms and 1.4 bathrooms, the owners have added in props and accessories that will allow fans to live out their true “Twilight” fantasies.

Staying in the Pacific Northwest, in second place in the study is the “10 Things I Hate About You” home, located in Tacoma, Washington. Rounding out the top three is the Goon Docks from the 1980’s classic adventure “The Goonies.” Most of the film was shot in Astoria, Oregon, which remained in line with the much-loved movie’s storyline.

In at fourth place is the home from the cult favorite, “Parasite”. Located in Seoul, South Korea, the house was built from scratch for the purpose of the film.

“I had to really meticulously design the house itself. It’s like its own universe inside this film,” director Bong Joon Ho said in an interview with IndieWire. “Each character and each team has spaces that they take over that they can infiltrate, and also secret spaces that they don’t know. So the dynamic between these three teams and the dynamic of space, they were very much intertwined and I think that combination really created an interesting element to this film.”

Finally, rounding out the top five is the charming home that Noah built for Allie in the 2004 tear-jerker, “The Notebook”. Located on Wadmalaw Island in South Carolina, the property has five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and spans over 4,200 square feet.
