Elegance exudes from these two tasteful examples of modern home design. Chic and alluring in their light-filled refinement they are also welcoming spaces thanks to an infusion of earthy boho-inspired elements. Handmade ceramics, rustic accent furniture, naturalistic pendant lights, and boho rugs introduce relaxed pauses between the high-end larger pieces. These warm natural elements are smoothly complemented and upscaled by the luxury of stunning travertine interludes, in the form of side tables and coffee tables, kitchen installations, and bathroom fixtures. Wood slatted feature walls and ceilings cast contemporary focal points into one home, whilst our second benefits from the glory of wide architectural arches.
The laconic living room of our first home design is compact in scale yet appears generously proportioned thanks to its lofty height and light decor scheme. A wood-slatted ceiling treatment brings in a contemporary texture that draws the eye up. At base level, A rounded sofa and two matching armchairs set down beautifully curvaceous silhouettes.
A rustic coffee table takes up the centre spot of the living room, placed upon a cream woven boho rug with a tasselled edge. An alcove is fitted with timber shelves to display handmade vases, bowls, and figurines.

Sweep harsh lines aside, forget formality and embrace the relaxed boho living room aesthetic. Boho interiors create a cosy and naturalistic backdrop in which to set aside the mounting worries of the fast-paced world. A tranquil place where we can unwind with family, unplug, and become immersed in pastimes we love. Indoor plants pull in a touch of Mother Nature’s revitalising green palette, adding delicate decor texture with air purifying benefits. Rattan baskets and wicker living room pendant lights warmly accessorise the look along with options for jute or tribal area rugs that lay down tactile interludes and interesting patterns. Minimal boho living room. Although the boho interiors trend is synonymous with layering and earthy accessorisation, you don’t have to create copious amounts of visual clutter to achieve the look. Applying just a few key pieces of wall decor to your living room along with a complementary coffee table at the centre is enough to complete the theme.
In this pared-back modern boho decor scheme, a white marble coffee table nests with a round black counterpart and a smaller side table to create a cool contemporary focal point within the earthy setting.

Let it shine. When you have a strong architectural focal point, neutral boho decor makes an ideal gentle accompaniment that will not distract the eye.
Take it low. The bohemian living room aesthetic is all about relaxed vibes and informality. So, keep furniture low, bring shelving down to meet it, and accessorise with a floor vase or two.
Light and laced with nature. Pale backgrounds and light-filled spaces go hand-in-hand with boho decor. Finish off with a jute round rug and a statement wicker chair.
Alternatively, pull back on random statement pieces and opt for one eye-catching living room chandelier.
You can also use a collection of smaller wicker pendants to form a larger light feature. Simply group multiple light fittings of different sizes into one condensed area and adjust the electrical cords to various lengths. This light installation is made even more eye-catching by an area of exposed wooden ceiling beams.
Create different areas of boho magic. In this red boho living room, a cane and rattan room divider splits a large space into two cosier lounge areas. Muted red wall paint depicts archways that complement the design of the bifold screen.

Boho reflections. In small spaces, the layering of boho accessories can become overwhelming. Instead, apply just a couple of adornments and include a full-length mirror to amplify the effect and the natural light.
Bring greenery indoors. Add a plethora of indoor plants to create a boho jungle where you will feel cocooned from work stresses and daily woes. This dreamy landscape is the perfect escape in which to get carried away with a great book.

Boho style decor has taken on a life of its own lately, popping up in homes in all corners of the world. And what’s one popular element often found in bohemian style spaces? 70’s textile craft macrame, of course! So today we’re teaching you how to make a simple macrame wall hanging out of yarn.
Begin by cutting your yarn into pieces that are 3 yards long each. You’ll need 10 pieces of each color. Select one of each color and fold them in half, placing the folded end over the dowel and pulling the tails through the hole as shown above. Repeat this process for the remaining yarn.
Now that you have all 10 clusters attached to the dowel, tape it down to your work surface. Each set of three colors will act as one strand… you’ll never use one individual piece of yarn. Take the outside cluster of the three colors and fold it in a “4” shape over the next two clusters as shown above.
Take the fourth cluster and fold it in a backwards “4” shape underneath the middle pieces (so the opposite of what you did in the previous step). It helps to bunch the tails up into a ball so you can maneuver them better.
Put the opposite set of tails down through the backwards “4” shape. Pull the tails taut so they end up about 2 inches from the dowel. Repeat this same knot in reverse, so start by putting the right piece over to the left in a backwards “4” shape and then put the left piece under to the right side, etc. For a general instructional diagram, check out this post. Continue across in the same manner.
On the next row, do the opposite pieces so that you start to form diamond shapes. (Leave the end two strands alone – you’ll use them on the next row.) Do 5 rows and then trim the ends to your desired length. I like fringe, so I left about 2 feet on the bottom. Tie a 2 foot long string across the top from one end of the stick to the other, and secure with a bit of super glue.
The final product is a bit unusual, thanks to the materials (traditional macrame is made with rope or cord, not clustered yarn). And you can really customize the colors this way too! Imagine what it might look like with neon pink? Or a mix of cool and warm colors?
You can also customize it by changing the scale… use 4 or 5 yarn colors per cluster and loop 16 clusters around the stick for a larger version of this piece. Have fun with it!
Bohemian interiors all carry commonalities but there are many different ways in which to individually hone the aesthetic. This inspirational collection of beautiful boho interiors demonstrates five divergent takes on the vibe. Our first boho variation is a rich umber cocoon with chunky textures, tribal influences, and decor features that are inspired by the arch trend. Home design number two is a refined modern space with green botanical accents. Rustic romance shapes boho interior number three, with a particularly dreamy bedroom. Mid-century influences lightly flavour home number four, and our final stop is an impressive, high-ceilinged abode with a decidedly luxe bohemian decor scheme, high-end furniture, and a stunning fireplace.
Umber accent walls add rich warmth to this cosy boho cocoon. Chunky decor elements build upon the visual warmth and depth of colour, fashioning a welcoming space to sink down into and spend a while.
The straight edges of a square coffee table are offset by a round rug set beneath it. The combination sets up a textural column of raw wood grain and natural jute at the heart of the lounge.

Elegant archways cut through another umber statement wall at the opposite end of the studio apartment. Decorative vases and sculptural art find a neat home inside of the cutaways.

White pendant lights illuminate upholstered bedside drawer units and a display of decorative vases. A sprig of greenery boosts the peaceful bedroom scheme with an uplifting touch of nature.
Raw wood grain, rattan weaves, and a host of prominent textures fill these three deeply rustic interiors with a tactile decor experience and a truly mesmerising visual feast. Modern linear furniture silhouettes and curved decor accessories introduce flashes of contemporary styling. A rustic colour palette of peaceful beiges and browns fashion a warm and cosy atmosphere with a hint of intimacy and romance. Plentiful indoor plants bring in naturally uplifting greenery. Bare concrete decor and stone elements add sturdy weight and a comforting feeling of permanence within the fickle modern world.
