Right on the heels of launching the earthy new Terra colorway and a diner-inspired mug, the North Carolina-based ceramics brand has announced a huge collection of breakfast bowls, dinnerware, serveware, coffee mugs, and more in partnership with celebrity chef Vivian Howard. Each piece has been tested right at Howard’s own Lenoir Restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina.
To make the occasion even more exciting, they’ve also created an entirely new pastel glaze that’s extremely charming: Buttermilk Pink. One of the Haand founders, Mark Warren, explains that even non-pink lovers will appreciate the shade. “It’s not a trendy shade of pink, it’s one that will look in style decades from now.” Howard herself came up with the name; it’s inspired by the flowering tobacco native to eastern North Carolina.
This collection fittingly straddles the line between feeling modern yet timeless. And since the pieces are so versatile, they’re an investment you’ll use for years. For instance, the Everyday Dinner Collection features dinner plates, saucers, and sharing platters and bowls that you could easily use for a weeknight meal and then bring out to wow guests at a dinner party. Or, as Howard suggests, the coffee cup saucers could easily double as cocktail party plates, while the share plates can be used for serving salad or dessert.
These plates, bowls, mugs, and more make great building blocks for a new set of dinnerware and serveware, or you can mix them into a larger set or even gift them to friends and family. Ultimately, sustainability is key, as both Haand and Howard want you to cherish, hold on to, and pass down the beautiful pieces for generations to come.
