Dualit’s stylish new ice cream maker is the latest that needs no pre-freezing or faff – this is the new style of dessert maker everyone’s going to be talking about

Dualit just became the latest homeware brand to release an ice cream maker with a difference – with it there are no requirements for pre-freezing and you can use it to whip up slushies as adeptly as a gelato.

This shiny new machine, which comes from the heritage British brand known for its appliances ‘created for a lifetime of use’, will be available to buy from the 1st of June for £349.99 (via Dualit).

Dualit is arguably best known for its toaster and kettle sets – after trying dozens, I awarded the brand the accolade of the best matching set in our buying guide – but this expansion into ice cream makers is indicative of the growing popularity of at-home entertaining appliances.

And this ice cream makers USP, the fact that it involves no preparation time, is a huge bonus to anyone looking to spruce up their next dinner party or BBQ. As the cost of dining and drinking out steadily rises, there seems to be a growing appetite for appliances that can allow you to make treats at home.

The Dualit Ice Cream Maker features the following modes: Ice Cream, Gelato and Sorbet, Frozen Yoghurt, Slushies, Cooling mode and Manual stirring.

The option to manually stir the ice cream is said by Dualit to be to ‘allow users to refine texture and consistency depending on the recipe’. There’s also an interlock lid, which allows you to add in all sorts of additional ingredients including chocolate chips, fruit or nuts – all while the machine is still churning.

You can keep your ice cream creation perfectly frozen for 30-60 minutes with this machine too, which would be absolutely perfect for when hosting a dinner party.

Dualit isn’t the first to try its hand at perfecting the at-home frozen treats maker. Recently we’ve reviewed a version from Cuisinart, the FrostFusion, which can create soft serve dispensed in a style that will make you nostalgic for the Pizza Hut Ice Cream Factory of your youth (or certainly of mine).

Add to that the fact that GreenPan has also recently released their take on proceedings with the Frost Ice Maker (which features a holder for ice cream cones!) as well as Russell Hobbs entering with the Chilluxe and you can see that there’s plenty of competition in the market at the moment. Here’s a closer look at the other no-pre-freeze machines released in 2026.

If you just can’t wait for June to try Dualit’s version, then there are plenty of worthwhile sweet treat makers around to keep yourself refreshed in the meantime but I’m definitely excited to see how this excellent British brand puts their stamp on ice cream!

The Nightstand Tray Moment: 4 Trays Worth Actually Buying

The Nightstand Tray Moment: 4 Trays Worth Actually Buying

Nightstands have a way of turning into a mix of everything…your current read, a candle you love, your glasses, and a few things that don’t quite belong. A tray pulls it all into one place, so everything has a proper spot to sit, and the whole surface looks well-styled. Small upgrade, big difference, right?

That’s exactly what the four nightstand tray ideas in this week’s post are here to do  🤍

Woven Rattan Tray

A woven rattan nightstand tray is a 2-in-1: it keeps your essentials in place and brings in that easy, natural texture. Yes, organization comes first, but adding texture along the way only makes the setup feel more complete. After all, a room without texture is a bit like a dish without salt; something just feels missing.

Round Wood Tray

Wood trays are always a classic choice, but this one is a bit different… well, more high-end, we’d say. The piece looks like a “mini stage.” Aesthetic, of course, but spacious enough to hold your essentials and one or two decorative items (like a diffuser or small planter).

Marble Catchall Nightstand Tray

Marble itself is a statement – and a timeless one at that. When the base looks this good, everything on top follows. Rings, a watch, or even a simple candle all feel elevated.

Leather Valet Tray

If a soft, minimalist bedroom is your goal, a leather valet tray is your go-to. The raised edges will hide your day-to-day clutter behind the unique stripe design, soft texture, and lovely color of this affordable nightstand tray.

H&M’s minimalist garden parasol will give your garden an instant glow-up – its quiet luxury style is perfect for serving up a seriously hotel-chic look

As the weather starts to heat up, it’s time to consider how to add a little shade relief to a garden, and it is H&M’s £60 cream Vazzano Parasol that I keep coming back to. Its quiet luxury style is perfect for serving up a seriously hotel-chic look.

While there’s no shortage of best parasols to ground, I love the effortless style that comes with H&M. After all, if you’re going to invest in the must-have garden accessory this summer, you might as well pick the best-looking one.

There’s no denying that parasols are a must-have for 2026, and the H&M Vazzano Parasol is a subtle yet chic choice that will make your garden look like the grounds of a posh hotel.

It feels like we’re a little spoiled for choice with all the stylish parasols on sale right now. If you’re partial to colour, striped parasols like George Home’s Riviera Stripe Parasol (£59) are worth your while; meanwhile, Maximalists should indulge in the latest Habitat x Scion collection (I like the £30 fringed Jackfruit parasol).

But if you’re after something a little more classic, this H&M pick is a great choice. The 2.7m parasol operates via a tilt-and-crank mechanism, offering easy adjustment. The base is made from an equal mix of steel and aluminium, and the shade itself is polyester – a standard material for budget parasols due to its durability, affordability, and UV protection.

The shade itself is a simple and elegant cream. There’s also a rectangular-shaped Vazzano parasol on offer for £69.99. At 2x3m, it’s large enough to cover your garden furniture, making al fresco dining comfortable in hot weather. It also sports a neutral colourway to suit any garden.

Neither parasol comes with a base, so you will have to buy that separately. Luckily, there are plenty of stylish options on offer, including the granite VanHaus Parasol Base (£43.99, Amazon). This base is a hefty 22kg to keep your parasol from blowing over, and it has pole adapters so you can adjust it to fit your parasol pole. More affordable options include Argos Home’s Concrete Parasol Base (£35), which fits most standard parasols or the Strata Plastic Parasol Base (£12, Argos), which you fill with sand or water to hold your parasol in place.

I’m loving the minimalist appeal of H&M’s Vazzano parasol. It blends into your garden, rather than dominating, making your space look effortlessly stylish in the process.

Yes, small wardrobes can be organised too – and Lakeland’s £16.99 storage solution is the key to your seasonal clothing switch-up this May

Now that the winter months have (thankfully) passed us by, it’s the perfect time to do a summer wardrobe switch-up – replacing your bulky winter clothes and coats with your warm-weather outfits. And Lakeland’s 50L Underbed Vacuum Clothes and Duvet Storage Tote Bag (£16.99 at Lakeland) is the clutter-free companion you need to get the job done properly.

Yes, one of the golden rules of organising a wardrobe is to rotate your clothes as the seasons change. It’s traditionally best to do this in the spring and then again in the autumn, removing the clothes you no longer need and replacing them with the ones you will. This will stop your wardrobe from bursting at the seams, so you know exactly what’s in there – and where to find it.

But where do you store the clothes you won’t wear while they’re not in season? Well, vacuum storage bags have long been my go-to for safe and easy clothes storage in small spaces. And while they tend to all look the same, I can understand why shoppers are raving about Lakeland’s underbed option. After all, it’s genius.

Latest Videos From

When you have a small wardrobe, it’s well worth storing your seasonal clothes so that only the essentials are taking up space. But where storage baskets and tubs are bulky and not small-space friendly, vacuum bags can instantly make big things smaller – especially long winter coats and chunky knits.

Lakeland’s 50L Underbed Vacuum Clothes and Duvet Storage Tote Bag is so much more than just a regular vacuum bag, though, and technically it’s two bags in one. You can store your out-of-season clothes inside the inner bag, then vacuum out the air before zipping the outer bag for an extra layer of protection.

This is particularly handy for winter clothes, which are often susceptible to damage from clothes moths, dust, and moisture during storage. But by adding this extra, outer bag, you can keep your clothes in pristine condition – and pop it anywhere from under your bed to on top of your wardrobe or even in the loft if you really don’t have any extra space.

The beauty of Lakeland’s storage bag is that it’s also big – and its 50L capacity has been designed to hold a double duvet and four pillows if you’re also looking to switch up your bedding for summer. Then, with easy-to-carry handles and a viewing window, you can also remove your clothes if you’ve realised you’ve accidentally packed something you shouldn’t, or check on their condition as the months go by.

But if you think you have more clothes or bedding than 50L will allow – or that just seems like way too much – you’ll be happy to know that Lakeland also has this exact design in a variety of different sizes.

This includes a jumbo 87L version (from Lakeland for £19.99), or a standard 38L version (£14.99 at Lakeland). And if you’d rather not have the outer bag so you can stuff your winter clothes in an empty suitcase in the loft, you can buy the bags on their own from Lakeland – including this pack of 6 Lakeland Shrink & Store Vacuum Bags for £14.99.

Personally, I think the 50L version will be perfect for my smaller wardrobe – and I’m not the only one excited about this space-saving saviour, either.

The reviews of this Lakeland bestseller are seriously impressive, with a large share of reviewers giving it a perfect 5-star rating. One happy customer raved, ‘This is the best vacuum bag I have used,’ while another echoed this and wrote, ‘These are the best vac bags I’ve tried. They look neat and tidy and are so well protected.’

Many have also praised the outer bag for not only protecting the clothes but also protecting the vacuum bag itself.

One customer wrote, ‘I have been looking for something like this for ages. I have used previous vacuum bags, but often end up snagging the bag on something, causing it to re-inflate! The outer bag for this prevents that, and the handles make it very easy to get in and out of the cupboard.’

Wardrobe organising essentials

So, if you’re planning on switching out your winterwear over the next few weeks, I’d definitely consider this genius Lakeland product to help keep things organised.

I just discovered Dunelm has *the* best collection of dressing tables for small bedrooms – there’s even one for £89!

If you’re like me and have a bedroom that’s more bijou than bountiful, then you may have given up on the dream of having a dressing table in your boudoir.

After all, a dedicated dressing table is only an option if you have the luxury of a spacious sleep setup, right? Those of us with small bedrooms have to make do with balancing on the edge of the bed to get ready in the morning…. don’t we?

Little wonder that means it’s already sold out numerous times in its various colourways, but it’s currently back in stock in the rust stripe upholstery and ready to be snapped up, if you’re quick.

However, if stripes aren’t your thing, there are also plenty more great slimline and small footprint dressing tables available at Dunelm right now, including pretty fluted designs and natural wood options. I’ve rounded up my top picks below.

Shop Dunelm’s small dressing tables

I’ve scoured the high street in my hunt for a small dressing table, and whilst some retailers have the odd option (I’ll add some of my favourites below) I haven’t found anywhere that has the same range of options as Dunelm.

It seems the retailer is going all in on small space design this year, and as someone with a tiny bedroom, that’s certainly music to my ears!

Lidl is selling a robot vacuum cleaner for under £60 – it’s the most affordable model I’ve ever seen

If you’ve been considering investing in a robot vacuum cleaner, Lidl is launching one of the most affordable models I’ve ever seen. At just £59.99, this clever cleaning product is an absolute steal.

While robot vacuum cleaners are becoming increasingly popular, the best robot vacuums can be expensive. So, opting for a model like Lidl’s can be a good option if you’re looking to see if this cleaning style works for you.

Latest Videos From

Having glanced at the price, I couldn’t help but wonder if this Lidl deal is too good to be true. If you’re buying a robot vacuum for the first time, it’s incredibly important that you select the right model for your home.

In terms of affordability, Ideal Home’s Certified Expert in Vacuums, Lauren Bradbury, rates the Hoover HG2 Turbo Slim Hydro Robot Vacuum Cleaner (was £269.99, now £189.99 at Argos) as the best budget vacuum cleaner available on the market.

By contrast, Lidl’s £59.99 price tag is an insane difference, and a far more affordable entry point. But is it as good?

Lidl claims its robot vacuum easily cleans hard-to-reach areas. It’s operated via a remote control and has three cleaning modes: Classic, which uses random navigation to clean; Spot, which uses a spiral cleaning pattern; and Corner, which completes corner cleaning via random navigation.

It has two side brushes for efficient cleaning, three anti-impact and three anti-drop sensors, and is easy to empty, with a washable dust container. The machine uses two xAAA batteries to operate and comes with a three-year warranty.

While all these features sound impressive, I wouldn’t expect this model to work quite as well as the best vacuum cleaners. If you’re dead set on investing in a robot vacuum cleaner, I’d recommend spending a little more on a tried and tested model.

For example, the Roborock QV 35S Robot Vacuum With Mop (was £499.99, now £319.98 at Amazon) is one more affordable model that also works brilliantly. Cleaning Editor Lauren said this vacuum is a great choice for hard flooring with superior mopping skills.

While I do believe Lidl’s incredible price point makes the robot vacuum cleaner more accessible, if you can afford to spend a little more, it is worth investing in a highly-rated model. Here are some robot vacuums that are both highly rated and on the more affordable end of the spectrum.

Do you think this Lidl robot vacuum cleaner is too good to be true? Or are you planning to try it out yourself?

I saw Next’s new luxury homeware accessories IRL and can confirm they feel as expensive as they look – 9 picks that could easily be designer

Luxurious homeware accessories are about the materials; they’re simple and elegant in design, but carry a sense of weight with metal and marble detailing. That perfectly sums up Next’s new N. Premium home decor accessories.

Next launched its N. Premium homeware range last year, focusing on gorgeous pieces of furniture that embraced wood finishes, marble and brass detailing. It delivered Soho Home furniture looks, but at a fraction of the price, with most of the furniture costing between £300 and £1,000. However, that is still a steep price to pay if you’re looking to add a little luxury to your home on a budget.

Fortunately, Next has slowly been adding more homeware accessories to its range, offering the opportunity to level up your home for under £100.

This stunning, yet unusual, hydrangea variety is perfect for small gardens and patios – it’s low-maintenance, thrives in pots and can be planted right now

I, like most people, think hydrangeas are beautiful. While these beautiful, showy blooms are a staple in most gardens, it was only recently that I first saw the beauty of a Double Dutch Hydrangea (£24.99, Thompson & Morgan) in the flesh, and it’s now safe to say that I’m completely besotted!

Offering various colours, sizes and shapes whilst being relatively low-maintenance, it is easy to see why growing hydrangeas is so popular. They also produce long-lasting blooms and are incredibly versatile. You can use this shrub to fill in patchy borders, or even grow hydrangeas in pots to fill a patio or courtyard with pretty colour.

If you’ve been sitting wondering which hydrangea to plant, then I believe I can convince you to try a Double Dutch Hydrangea variety. Blooming mopheads of double-flower heads, it’s one of the most stunning and unusual varieties you can choose – plus, you can plant them now!

Let me set the scene. On holiday in North Devon with my partner, after a particularly windy, rainy walk on the South West Coastal Path, it was only natural that we took refuge in the pub.

But while he headed for the bar, I was completely distracted by the stunning floral display in the pub garden. But amongst the pretty blooms, it was the pink double dutch hydrangeas that caught my eye. They were so pretty in person that I actually forgot it was raining.

I was told they were called the Hydrangea ‘Double Dutch Edam’, and if it wasn’t for the fact that I lived in a flat and had no garden, I’d have gone home and planted them straightaway.

Blooming from July until October, these stunning blooms can be planted in your garden right now – here’s why you should.

Why you should plant Double Dutch Hydrangeas

‘What I love about Double Dutch hydrangeas is that with the simplest of care, I’m rewarded with a mass of colour from July until October. Whilst this long-lasting display keeps colour constant in my garden, as these mophead hydrangeas have multiple layers of double, star-shaped florets, they create large, dense clusters of flowers which contrast perfectly with their glossy green foliage,’ says Lucie Bradley, gardens and greenhouse expert at Easy Garden Irrigation.

‘I’d always recommend Double Dutch hydrangeas if you are struggling for space, as they have been bred to grow into compact, upright, rounded shrubs, which makes them perfect for pots or small garden borders.’

You also don’t have to worry about pruning your hydrangea, as this variety is happy to grow on both new and old wood. You should just deadhead them to keep them tidy, alongside a light prune in the spring.

‘When you are planting a new Double Dutch hydrangea in your garden, either directly in the ground or into a container, you have two times available to you, either Autumn, any time from September through to early November, or early to mid spring, which covers the months of March to May,’ says Lucie.

‘If you choose to plant your Double Dutch hydrangea in spring, then it will benefit from planting into a soil which is starting to heat up, so it encourages the new shrub to develop a strong root system quickly, so it is well established by the time the stress of summer heat arrives. Becoming well established at the perfect time of year will result in bigger, better, more vibrant blooms even in the hydrangeas’ first year in your garden.

Where to buy

There is no denying this is one of the prettiest hydrangeas for pots. Are you as taken with them as I am?
