This Sunshiny Los Angeles Single-Family for Sale Comes with a Bonus Wood Cabin

This Sunshiny Los Angeles Single-Family for Sale Comes with a Bonus Wood Cabin

With multiple-offer situations taking place all over the country and interest rates flying high, it’s a struggle to buy even one house. But if you land this single-family for sale in Los Angeles, you get two bonus buildings with it. One is a Quonset hut, an arched single-room structure made of corrugated galvanized steel. Two sets of glass doors fill the space with light, making for a sweet yoga studio, writer’s den, or standalone living room. Right next to it, a few steps lead up to a darling blue wooden cabin with its own front porch. Inside, calming pine-colored walls and a vaulted ceiling make for a quaint home office (with the world’s quickest commute).

The three-in-one deal is a huge draw, to be sure, but the main single-family home is lovely enough for a closer look. The bathroom, with a clawfoot tub, subway tiled walls, and geometric blue-and-white flooring is a highlight — with a shower window looking out into the palm tree-blessed backyard to boot. And the kitchen, filled with sunlight sparkling stainless appliances and a farmhouse sink, makes me want to cook up a big brunch and lay it out in the adjacent breakfast room.

Of course, California living means plenty of time spent outside. This home’s backyard, complete with a pergola-covered patio, tons of lush plantings, and a stone path leading from the front yard to the cabin in the back, is all the motivation I’d need to get outside

Check Out This Courtyard-Blessed Condo for Sale in New Orleans’ French Quarter

It’s no secret that exposed brick is a covetable home feature. When looking through listing photos, checking into an Airbnb, or slyly peeking into brownstone windows as I pass by, I always say a little “wow, nice” to myself every time I spot a patch of brick. So imagine my joy when I came across this absolutely lovely condo for sale on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. From the all-brick courtyard to the accents poking through in the kitchen backsplash, bathroom wall, fireplace surround, and even around arched doorways, this place is an exposed brick heaven.

The mood of the condo is immaculate, too. The lime green shutters that greet you in the plant-filled courtyard set a fresh, happy tone from the start. Inside, an eclectic mix of wooden ceiling beams, wood cabinetry, and white countertops and walls round out the first floor. Up on the second level, both bedrooms enjoy heaps of sunlight, ample closet space, and easy access to and a balcony that overlooks the courtyard below. Depending on which window you look out, you can embrace the buzz of Bourbon Street or the peaceful slice of brick paradise in your own backyard.

This Single-Family for Sale in California Has a Kaleidoscopic Living Room

This Single-Family for Sale in California Has a Kaleidoscopic Living Room

Two hours north of San Francisco, this four-bedroom home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac, perched on a hill just slightly enough that you can catch some valley vistas from the upper deck. It would be easy for the building to blend into its tree-filled surroundings, but I love it because it doesn’t: The angled exterior is painted an ultramarine blue topped off with a bright turquoise front door that stands out from the home’s setting without clashing. At night, the lights inside glow golden through the windows, making for an even more striking contrast.

Inside, a balance of tile and wood floors, skylights, wide windows, and tall ceilings help the open home feel sunny and calming. The kitchen, updated just last year, serves up new GE appliances, a pot-filler faucet, wave-like backsplash, and lots of pristine white cabinetry. It’s such a pretty, neutral kitchen that the transition to the living room is an even better surprise.

There, a vaulted wooden ceiling features a stained glass skylight that washes the room with subtle hues of pink, green, and yellow. A statement-making central fireplace echoes the luminous effect with silvery tiling covering the surround and a metallic fixture that extends to the ceiling in place of a mantel. The result is a seriously cool space where you can bask in a colorful glow even outside of the sunset.

But if a sunset prospect is what you’re after, this home can deliver. The primary suite upstairs opens onto its own deck, complete with a hot tub so you can finish the day in total bliss. Don’t mind if I do!

This Sunny Studio for Sale in Manhattan Makes the Smartest Use of Its Space

This Sunny Studio for Sale in Manhattan Makes the Smartest Use of Its Space

On top of being a common city living reality, small-space living is just so satisfying. Maximizing minimal square footage means getting creative with storage and organization, making the most of precious floor space, and putting your personal style on display as soon as you walk in the door. And this studio for sale in Lincoln Square delivers on all of that.

While working from home out of a studio and maintaining any sense of division between workspace and living space can be difficult, a clever feature helps this home strike that balance: A subtle sliding screen partitions the living room from the sleeping area and office alcove. So, you can close it off during the workday and open it up back at night when you’re ready to shut the laptop.

A narrow but cabinet-filled galley kitchen also makes the most of its space, and because it’s tucked at the front of the unit away from the bedroom nook, you don’t have to literally eat where you sleep, as is often true with studios.

The icing on this small space cake? It’s a toss-up between the wide bank of factory-style windows with covetable city views and the full wall of bookshelves that ensure you won’t have to downsize your paperback collection before moving in.

This Townhouse for Sale in Washington, D.C. Is a Mid-Century Modern Gem

This Townhouse for Sale in Washington, D.C. Is a Mid-Century Modern Gem

Natural light can be hard to come by in crowded city digs, but this Washington, D.C. townhome suffers no such plight. Throughout all of its four levels, sunshine pours through glass sliding doors, transom windows, and floor-to-ceiling exposures. Plus, bright white walls and recessed lighting amplify the daylight.

The residence offers tons of contemporary value, from the kitchen updated with stainless appliances and illuminated cabinets, to hotel-like bathrooms, to not one but two sets of stacked Bosch washer and dryers so you wouldn’t even have to trek up the floating staircase to put in some laundry.

My personal favorite feature, though, is an architectural detail that’s been there since the home’s construction in the early 1960s. The barrel roof of the building means that the upper floor boasts gorgeous rounded ceilings and arched windows that make the luminous space feel even more majestic.

As for outdoor amenities, though it’s only a mile and a half from downtown attractions the Smithsonian, the townhouse claims a spacious private patio, and the co-op includes a pool, fitness center, playground, and picnic area.
