When it comes to enjoying the great outdoors with your pet this summer, nothing is more important than ensuring your beloved furry baby remains cool and comfortable. The dog days of summer can get hot, causing pups big and small to easily overheat — especially if they have an extra thick coat of fur. Whether you spend your days hiking under the sun with your Aussie or chilling in your apartment with your Chihuahua, it’s a good idea to have a quick and easy way to cool down your pup if necessary.
Luckily, Bed Bath & Beyond has the answer in the form of Pawslife’s X-Large Cooling Pad. Filled with a non-toxic cooling gel, it’s an easy (and freezer-free!) way to cool down your dog in a pinch during hot summer days. The extra-large format measures a whopping 37 in. long and 31 in. wide, making it suitable for even large breeds of dogs like golden retrievers and labs.
The key to the pad’s cooling ability lies in the interior gel, which works in opposition to your pet’s body heat to quickly cool them down via one of their most effective spots, their belly. The 100% vinyl cover is stain-resistant to doggy drool and dirt and can be easily wiped clean as needed. The only stipulation: The pad is meant to be used indoors after a day out in the sun, so it’s not a good idea to place it outdoors in direct sun, where it may lose its cooling capabilities.
Fellow pet parents love how easy the pad is for pups to find and use on their own to cool down. As one happy owner writes, “I purchased one of these for our two golden retriever puppies to try out because they were always panting after their play sessions. They immediately started laying on it when I got it laid out for them & have used it regularly since. I purchased two more so I could put one downstairs [and one] in our camper. I think these will really be utilized in the summer months, I’m glad we’ll be ready!”
In addition to quickly cooling down overheating dogs, this pad is also awesome for pets with health issues, like arthritis. “I was wonderfully surprised with how nice this cooling pad is,” says another reviewer. “I bought the extra large for my 105-pound malamute labrador mix. He has a condition called GOLLP, which causes him to overheat. He loves going on the pad when he starts overheating. It’s padded which adds a little more comfort to his arthritis.”
And now for the best part: Right now, you can score this pup perk 20 percent off, making it the perfect time to invest in your dog’s health and comfort before summer kicks into high gear. Trust us, Fido will thank you.

Summer is almost here and that means one thing: it’s time to get outside. From heading out to your favorite hiking spot to picnicking with friends and family, there’s nothing better than enjoying some nice weather after a dreary winter. For those lucky enough to have an outdoor space of their own to bask in, it’s also time to break out (or update) your setup. The easiest way to start? With a good lounge chair, of course! A cute and comfy lounge chair can turn a sliver of yard space into an outdoor oasis in no time. If you have room for one (or more), my only question is, what are you waiting for? From colorful woven loungers to classic folding styles that are perfect for small spaces, we rounded up 10 of the comfiest outdoor lounge chairs that won’t break the bank — they’re all under $100! Even better, some of these are portable and can be taken on the road for a day at the beach, park, or wherever else you end up. So I say again, what are you waiting for?

It’s time to ready your patio, yard, or sliver of outside space for outdoor entertaining season, and the options these days for stylish, durable furniture and furnishings abound. If you’re a fan of Christiane Lemieux’s artful aesthetic that references iconic European ateliers mixed with modern design touches and heirloom materials, then you’re in for an outdoor treat. On the heels of her brand’s direct-to-customer website launch earlier this month, Lemieux’s Lemieux et Cie has debuted an outdoor textile collection this week, and it’ll bring a dose of sophisticated color and graphic pattern to your outdoor oasis — no matter how big or small.
The collection, titled “Fragmented Materiality,” draws inspiration from painted artwork and historical fragments Lemieux has found in her travels. “We’ve heard from our designers and clients that they want to extend considered design and decor to their outside spaces,” says Lemieux. “Taking this into account, the pieces in the Fragmented Materiality collection combine design history, texture, and color to create beautifully curated entertaining or lounging spaces.”
No stranger to sustainability practices in textile creation, Lemieux is following an on-demand, waterless digital printing manufacturing model for this collection and has considered environmental footprint at all aspects of the production cycle. “We believe that outdoor products should also be good for the outdoors,” says Lemieux. That means pillows and rugs are printed only when they’re ordered, so inventory isn’t created to just sit on shelves, and there’s little waste involved. The designs are also available in custom colors, and fabric can be ordered by the yard for larger, bespoke projects.
Prices start at $55 for some styles of pillows, and range up to $998 for rugs. The collection is available at Lemieux et Cie right now, and a portion of the sales will be donated directly to The Surfrider Foundation to benefit the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches.
