2025 will go down in history as the year of great Morris & Co collaborations – or at least in my mind it will. Following very successful partnerships with the likes of Habitat and Next, it’s now time for the Swyft x Morris & Co. collection to have its time in the spotlight since being released online this week. And I think it’s one of the best ones yet!
Known as the maker of some of the best sofas currently available on the market, Swyft is a fellow British brand (albeit much younger than Morris & Co.) and the pairing of Swyft’s contemporary furniture shapes and Morris & Co.’s classic nature-inspired prints is spot on.
With prices starting at £59 for a cushion, the range spans everything from storage ottomans to large pieces like sofas, which includes the one of the best modular sofas that I rate very highly called Model 03.

‘This collaboration has been over two years in the making; a real labour of love from both teams,’ says Keiran Hewkin, CEO and co-founder of Swyft.
‘We’re two brands that deeply value quality, craftsmanship and care, so bringing our worlds together felt both natural and exciting. We wanted to create something timeless yet fresh, still honouring the heritage of the Morris & Co. archive while reimagining it for the modern home.’
I got an early preview of the offering and a chance to experience the pieces IRL – and these would be my most recommended top picks.

Top picks
Similarly to the most recent Habitat x Morris & Co. bedding and the Next x Morris & Co. collaborations, the Swyft range, too, features a few different archival Morris & Co. prints – four to be exact.

And just like with any collection, there are predicted bestsellers – plus, I have my favourites, too.
‘It’s full of personality, generous in comfort, and the print is a perfect blend of bold and balanced. It’s a piece that truly brings the outside in and we think it’s going to be a firm favourite,’

Model 05 Loveseat in Blackthorn
Given the size of the range, I didn’t see literally every piece at the preview – but I did see and try out this loveseat which Swyft predicts to be the bestseller in this intricate Blackthorn pattern. The generously sized design is very comfy and deep and the motif will elevate any corner you put it in.

Model 03 3-Seater Right Chaise Sofa in Willow
This Swyft sofa has made it not only on our best modular sofa list but also into the best sofa buying guide in general. Swyft offers one of the quickest deliveries (it can be with you in 24 hours!) and it arrives flatpacked. Now, you can get this wonderful pairing of the modern sofa shape with a traditional pattern on top.

Storage 03 Ottoman in Fruit
This is another piece that I saw IRL at the collection preview. This compact ottoman is the perfect addition to even a small living room as extra seating as it provides hidden storage within. Alternatively, you could use it as a seat for your dressing table.
Alternatives from other Morris & Co collabs
As already mentioned, Morris & Co. has been very busy in recent times, partnering with various brands to bring about special collaborations much like the newly launched one with Swyft. Here are some more top picks from other Morris & Co. partnerships that the Ideal Home team and I highly recommend.
Habitat x Morris & Co.
Merton Sunflower Fabric Armchair
Ruggable x Morris & Co.
Blackthorn Ivory Rug
Ruggable, everybody’s favourite brand of washable rugs, is a master when it comes to collaborations – and its parnership with Morris & Co was no different. The ivory Blackthorn rug is the bestseller from the collection and between the muted colour palette paired with pretty, intricate botanical motifs, I’m really not surprised. It’s my favourite too!
Habitat x Morris & Co.
Tulip Toile Bedding Set
The Tulip Toile bed linen design is one of the more subtle prints and, in my opinion, the more elegant and timeless ones from the range. Made with 100% crisp cotton percale, the design is reversible so you can easily switch up the look of your bed.
Are you a fan of the classic Morris & Co. motifs? And what piece caught your eye the most? I’d love to know!
Color Combination: Sage green, cream, warm brass, natural botanicals
Who is it for: For families who want a living space that feels both polished and genuinely liveable. The parents who host book clubs and Sunday roasts, but also need somewhere the kids can sprawl with homework. Those who appreciate English country charm without the fuss of antiques.

Cosy English Family Room: Board with Shopping List
Below, we present a curated list of products presented on the board:
Tips and suggestions
Colors that Work Together: Sage green is having its moment, and for good reason—it’s sophisticated without being stuffy. The paneled accent wall in this muted green creates instant architecture, while cream upholstery keeps things light and airy. Those brass accents add warmth without the maintenance headaches of copper or the coldness of chrome.
Wall details: The board-and-batten paneling is classic English country, but scaled for modern living. It adds texture and visual weight without overwhelming the space. The brass sconces flanking the botanical print create perfect symmetry, and that simple gold frame keeps the artwork from competing with the wall treatment.
Furniture Foundation: The cream tufted sofa with brass nailhead trim strikes the perfect balance—formal enough for grown-up entertaining, comfortable enough for family movie nights. That matching accent chair creates a conversation area without blocking traffic flow, and the brass legs tie everything together visually.
Lighting: Those swing-arm brass sconces are both beautiful and functional—perfect for reading without casting shadows. The warm metal finish complements the sofa’s brass details, creating a cohesive look that feels intentional rather than matchy.
Finishing Touches: The white flowering branches in both floor and table planters bring life to the space without the commitment of fresh flowers. That textured area rug grounds the seating area and adds another layer of cosy texture underfoot.
The Final Note: This room works because it embraces the English love of comfort without sacrificing style. The sage green feels fresh and current, while the traditional elements—the paneling, the botanical art, the brass details—give it staying power. It’s elegant enough for entertaining but relaxed enough for real family life, which is exactly what a family room should be.
Earlier this week, Dunelm introduced its autumn/winter 2025 collection at a press preview. But this actually wasn’t the first time I came upon the new Dunelm Elements Finn accent chair. In fact, it was a couple of months ago at a Dunelm breakfast where I got to test it out and where everyone attending was obsessed with this chair – myself included. And it’s finally available to shop now!
It’s the perfect piece for dopamine decorating schemes or even a more pared-back room as a statement piece, set to become available in more colours in due course. But at the moment, Dunelm’s selling the Finn chair in cherry red and sage green shades. The former is my favourite, and the one I predict is going to be the bestseller in no time. And I’ve been right about this kind of thing before, just saying.

So what’s the appeal of the Finn chair, you might be wondering. Apart from its obvious stylish look with a textured boucle finish, I was most struck by how comfy it was to sit and lounge on – so much so, I didn’t want to get up when testing it out. And the fact that it’s only £169 makes it even more appealing to add to one’s basket.
The low, deep shape with a metal frame is inspired by furniture and home decor designs from the 70s and 80s but with added playful, modern twists, such as the on-trend colour choices.

Elements Finn Textured Sherpa Occasional Armchair in cherry red
If you’re into the deep, dark red tones that are trending this year, then this delicious cherry colourway is for you. It’s the kind of statement piece that is not over the top.

Elements Finn Boucle Occasional Armchair in green
What else impressed me
But, of course, there was so much more that caught my eye at the Dunelm press showcase, with the whole autumn/winter 2025 offering of furniture and home accessories being on display. So apart from the Finn chair, these are the six other pieces that I can honestly say impressed me for one reason or another – and they’re all available to buy now, too.
Dunelm
Clara Cubed Patchwork Cotton Velvet Square Cushion
If you’re getting the cherry red Finn chair, then I’d this chic patchwork cushion to your basket as well since they make a great pairing. But even if you’re not, this cushion will look stylish even with something more pared back.
Dunelm
Armitage Chenille Snuggle Chair with Ball Feet
Speaking of stylish chairs, Dunelm hasn’t stopped at the one. The Armitage chair, complete with the designer-style ball-shaped legs, is another one of my top picks. But it’s a little more substantial compared to the Finn which is also reflected in its price.
Dunelm
Reeva 2 Drawer Bedside Table
Dunelm’s Reeva furniture range is the hero collection of this season, including everything from a coffee table to a sideboard and even this chic bedside table. Made with a combination of solid wood and veneer, it boasts an elevated midcentury modern look.
Dunelm
Lana Marble Small Side Table
Marble is infamously pricey. But Dunelm’s managed to make marble furniture pieces that are actually accessible in terms of price. Available in two colourways, this side table is under £130 and the already sold-out console table is £299.
Dunelm
Ruri Rattan Table Lamp
I love a rattan table lamp – it’s a great way to inject some organic texture into a room. And this petite number from Dunelm is super cute and only £25.
Dunelm
Laylah Frilled Stripe Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set
If you’re looking for timeless but pretty bed linen that can take you from season to season without being plain white and boring, look no further. I also loved how the Dunelm team styled it at the show, layering it with other bed linen with floral and checked motifs.
Here at Ideal Home, Dunelm is one of our go-to brands for stylish but reasonably priced furniture and home accessories. And once again, the brand didn’t disappoint – and just wait to see what else they’ve got in the pipeline for the rest of the autumn/winter season.

When it comes to living room layouts, the open-floor concept has its friends and its foes. I’m going to just go hide in another room so I don’t have to moderate that passionate debate.
Instead, I did decide ask a whole bunch of real estate agents which living room layout is falling out of fashion. Regardless of whether you’re Team Open-Floor or you like your living spaces to come with more definition, there was one common underlying theme in real estate agents’ responses — and it’s tech-driven.

The living room layout that’s on its way out… is any one in which the TV dominates how the space is arranged. Helping fuel this trend is the advent of TVs that don’t look at TVs at all. (Think: Samsung’s Frame TV that can inconspicuously double as a digital art gallery and is framed like a work of art or can be placed on a studio stand.)
“We are seeing homeowners get really creative with how they make televisions seamlessly a part of the living room without it being a primary focal point,” says Emily Waldmann, an Austin, Texas-based real estate agent with Douglas Elliman. “Whether it’s a Samsung Frame TV as a part of a gallery wall, or a creative sliding cover for the TV when it’s not in use, this is definitely something our clients are talking about.”
Perhaps even more interesting is what’s replacing the TV-centric living room. Waldmann says she’s seeing the revival of the sunken living room — the kind that creates a distinct living space that’s more about facilitating conversation and socializing than TV watching.
“It’s partially driven by the trend of restoring and remodeling mid-century homes and a return to hosting and connecting with people in your home as a focal point in a post-Covid era,” Waldmann says. “This style is being done in a new, modern way. We love to see it.”
With less of a focus on television-watching, there’s more flexibility with how seating is arranged, says Scott Nachatilo, property manager and owner at OKC Home Realty Services in Oklahoma City. Options like smaller sofas and different styles of seating (egg chairs! Low-slung rattan chairs! Scalloped armchairs wrapped in velvet and floor poufs!) are joining the more traditional armchairs and recliners we associate with settling in to watch Netflix.
Brady Bridges, broker and owner of Reside Real Estate in Fort Worth, Texas, is also seeing the trend away from TVs being the central focal point in a living room. The increasing popularity of streaming services, he points out, means people can watch their favorite shows or a movie from just about anywhere.
“Instead, people are now aiming for incorporating a more social and interactive living space,” Bridges says. “The conversation pit style of seating arrangement has become a popular alternative to TV-centric layouts. This involves arranging the furniture in a circular or semi-circular style, with an ottoman or low table in the center.”
