Deep chocolate and coffee tones flavor this sophisticated home design. The rich elements mingle amongst natural wood tone, black marble, and gray furnishings to create a smooth setting that oozes style. Visualized by 3DM Studio, this 184-square-meter home features a large open-plan living space with a split-level floor plan. The raised level creates desirable zoning for a kitchen, providing the cook with a clear view over the entire room. Huge windows bring in natural sunlight and wide views of the surrounding green environment. A marble-floored hallway draws a luxe look through the center of the home. Bedrooms are chic and sumptuous, decorated with contemporary wood wall paneling and high-end wallcoverings.
Massive windows wrap the living room with lush green garden views. The influx of natural daylight fills the space with a bright and uplifting ambiance, despite its dark color palette. A floating TV unit and a ceiling-mounted TV are suspended in front of an edge-to-edge window.
A modern fireplace burns at one end of the floating console unit. Lightweight white curtains frame the windows behind. The window dressings are drawn to filter strong sunlight during the day. By night, the closed drapes create a cozy atmosphere. A modern coffee table pulls the eye to the center of the living room with a rich walnut and glossy black finish.
Underneath the unique coffee table design, a bordered living room rug creates a layered look. Latticed wood wall panels and abstract artwork add interest around the perimeter of the room. A ribbon of LEDs softly highlights the edges of the focal wall.
Shades of gray and brown come together in the L-shaped sofa design, which features multicolored modules. The sofa’s split back fashions an open connection between the lounge and a formal dining area behind it.
One end of the wooden TV unit is mounted upon a luxe black and gray marble slab. The stone plinth makes a perfect display point for indoor plants in stylish planters.
Six slender dining room pendant lights are aligned above the formal dining table to evenly distribute illumination. The eye-catching lighting installation also serves to visually anchor the open-plan dining spot in place. The split-level living room elevates the kitchen zone into a commanding position.
Modern upholstered dining chairs seat up to six dinner guests with room to spare.
Out in the hallway of the home, a black and gray marble floor threads a luxurious aesthetic through the core of the home. A cognac upholstered bench enriches the color palette, along with a piece of contemporary art. Smoked mirror panels expand the sense of space in the narrow corridor design.
Inside the master bedroom, a gray upholstered bed softly contrasts with a wood-clad headboard feature wall. The focal wall is a combination of smooth and lattice wood panels; the bedside section is defined with a custom-cut mirror.
Two brass bedroom pendant lights descend in front of the mirrored panel, doubling their bright and lustrous effect. Marble flooring spreads a dramatic dark pattern across the room.
The bedroom TV wall is furnished with a freestanding media console unit. A complementary vanity table stands alongside it, paired with a floor-length mirror. LED strips highlight the side of the mirror, brightening the corner of the room.
A chic vanity stool completes the vanity ensemble. A reed diffuser and a decorative vase filled with pampas grass offer casual adornment.
The door to the walk-in wardrobe is disguised within a wall of wood cladding. Beyond the large wooden door, the dressing area is spacious and luxuriously decorated. A comprehensive wardrobe system is illuminated with light strips, which reflect upon the marble floor.
The bathroom contains a colorful terrazzo tile treatment. The terrazzo tiles fill the open shower area with a riot of pattern. A toilet cistern concealment wall breaks up the pattern with a smooth wood-clad finish.
A round bathroom mirror paints a ring of bright light against a wood and mirror-clad backsplash. The custom floor-to-ceiling mirror cladding reflects the busy tile design, making the bathroom appear deeper in proportion. A display shelf is set into a wall of storage and backlit to construct a restful focal point.
The second bedroom is papered with an elegant botanical wallcovering. Cloud-shaped pendant lights float in front. Behind the upholstered headboard, three painted wood panels wrap the corner of the room to fashion a tailored look.
The botanical wallcovering is repeated inside a bedroom workspace nook at the end of the bed.
A similar decor scheme graces the third bedroom. This time, a cluster of cloud lights floats directly above the bed.
Blush pink floral wallpaper fills the home office area on the opposite side of the room. A fresh white desk chair completes the delicate look.
This bathroom design delves deep into a dark palette with black marble walls and brown geometric wall tiles. A floating vanity unit features a latticed front, which creates cohesivity with the other wood-clad areas of the home. Two black vessel basins and elegant brass faucets sit on top.
Glossy brown geometric tiles and black marble slabs clad the wet zone around the bathtub. The contemporary bathtub and toilet bring matt gray ceramic into the materials palette. A small wall shelf keeps toiletries close to hand. A modern wall sconce offers soft mood lighting for a relaxing bubble bath.

Muted green, taupe and copper coloured accents gently colour the creamy microcement stucco interiors of these two beautiful modern home designs. The tranquil decor palette creates a mellow mood that is spiced with eye-catching contemporary design and unique lighting. Our first featured home design is coloured with light mossy green elements that come alive amongst a plethora of indoor plants. Arched windows bring in a flood of daylight and a city skyline. The second of our two home interiors shows a large and airy living space with a cantilevered staircase design. The double height living room reaches up into the rafters, where a luxury mezzanine bedroom suite rests in warm copper tones.
An olive green curved sofa softens the corner of our first living space, where it draws around dual aspect windows.
A set of two unique floor lamps add a warm and atmospheric glow against dove grey microcement stucco walls.
The U-shaped sofa arrangement is completed by a second green channel tufted sofa. Subtle, taupe stripes criss-cross the living room rug, adding an understated pattern against the pale microcement floor.
The wonderfully lightweight, woven chairs are Nomad lounge chairs by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl for Norr11.
Mature indoor plants cheerily complement the modern green sofas. The microcement wall treatment smooths around a built-in planter, forming one fused volume.
Linear wall lights cut sharply into the microcement stucco, tying in with the deep channels of the tufted sofa design.
More indoor plants are potted in matching cement planters, and lined up in height order around a curvaceous glass interior wall to create delicate screening.
Tall, arched windows draw the eye up to appreciate the generous ceiling height of the property.
Wooden window frames contrast warmly with the grey microcement stucco walls.
A set of wood nesting coffee tables are paired in the centre of the open plan lounge space, where they are accessorised with a small collection of coffee table books.
Behind the lounge area, the kitchen diner stands spacious and bright.
Over in the minimalist kitchen, a laconic colour palette flows across a curved kitchen island, a set of shapely tall kitchen cabinets, and a smoothly sculpted backsplash wall.
A modern chandelier combines linear and curved elements to aptly complement the kitchen design.
Open kitchen shelving is colour coordinated with the microcement wall treatment to create quiet cohesivity. Ceramic dishes are placed sparingly along the wall shelves to keep the visual clean and calm.
A fluted golden column makes a luxurious focal point out in the home entryway.
A ring of light draws around the lustrous gold feature column.
Beige drapes screen off the entryway closet. Their soft folds emulate the fluted finish of the central support pillar.
A designer chair makes a stylish addition to the monochromatic entryway, where it is positioned conveniently as a place to change into and out of shoes.
The hallway dressing area is subtly separated from the front door by a narrow dividing wall with a skillfully curved edge.
The second of our two featured designs is a large and luxurious home with warming copper coloured accents. Beige linear sofas peacefully coordinate with creamy microcement rendered walls in the living room. Black floor lamps cut slender disruptions into the light palette.
An area rug and a set of nesting coffee tables lay down more black anchors in the centre of the light lounge arrangement.
A cantilevered staircase design climbs the open plan living room wall. Clear glass balustrades provide a safe yet unobtrusive barrier along the ascent. A custom-cut, backlit mirror reaches from the living room baseboard up to the ceiling behind the staircase, where it joins with the glow of LED stair lights.
Black window blinds match with stark black window frames.
A modern fireplace cuts a curve into the concrete chimney breast. A copper backplate extends from the mouth of the firebox, elongating its effect.
Behind the lounge, a modern dining set seats up to eight at dinner. A trio of large dining room pendant lights cluster effectively above the modern table.
A one wall kitchen with kitchen island spans the back of the open concept living space. The wood dining table forms a peninsula off the central island, slotting neatly underneath its stone countertop.
Wood slatted unit fronts make textural contrast against the polished stone worktops and a smooth wood grain backsplash wall.
Open kitchen shelves are warmly lit with LED stips to provide atmospheric radiance.
Gold trims and a gold faucet provide a luxurious finishing touch to the kitchen design.
Up in the rafters, the mezzanine bedroom is warmed by a copper coloured headboard feature wall. The bedroom rug counteracts in cool grey tones.
A floating bedside table is configured with an overlapping wall mounted dressing table. A gold bedroom pendant light provides reading light by the bed, whilst a modern wall sconce brightens the vanity area.
A globe table light is set on a small bedside at the other side of the room.
The comfortable vanity chair doubles as a reading chair by the window.
At the foot of the bed, a glass closet spans the width of the room.
In the bathroom, a freestanding bathtub is situated to take in the tranquil view.
A round bathroom mirror is offset above the modern pedestal sink to balance out a small toiletries shelf. The vanity mirror glows dramatically around its edge like a solar eclipse.

A free-flowing layout creates a connected sense of family in this 112 square metre apartment project in the south of Moscow, Russia. Designed by Julia Khabarova, for a young couple with a child, the home was created to include an autonomous master block that avoids the inclusion of dead ends around the main living spaces. A central “cube” forces new scenarios of movement around the apartment in answer to an immovable riser. The material palette of slatted oak veneer, suede upholstery, cool concrete and reflective metals create an earthy aesthetic, alongside tonal shades of grey and warm umber accents. The full floor plan is included at the end of the tour.
Gray living room decor is warmed through with wood clad feature walls formed with layers of slatted texture. The lounge area is lined with heavy drapes that create a soft backdrop for an L-shaped sectional sofa arrangement.
The clients requested the inclusion of a bio fireplace in the living room. The flames ficker openly across a hearth that protrudes toward the adjacent kitchen diner area.
A table for four is adjoined to a central kitchen island. The table can also be extended to accommodate extra dinner guests, serving up to a party of six.
The open plan living space also includes the hallway area. Here, a generous storage system lines the walls, flowing toward the laundry room. Wood panels and slats of different widths form floor-to-ceiling handles on the hallway cabinets. This aesthetic is repeated to create interest across the TV wall in the lounge too, which creates a cohesive look through the open concept.
The modern fireplace is reflected in full length mirrors that are embedded into the opposite wall of the walkway.
A floating bookcase is fashioned into the back of the wall mounted TV cabinet.
The homeowners chose to make the kitchen island countertop deeper, at 750 millimeters, to allow them to comfortably cook and prep on both sides of the worktop.
Oak veneer column units house integrated appliances.
At the end of the kitchen island, a floating sink section allows direct access from three sides. Two-sided pull-out sections offer practical sized drawers that are not too heavy or too deep.
The decor scheme uses an earthy material palette of oak veneer, suede, concrete and metal, alongside shades of grey and warm umber.
A central “cube” was fashioned to accommodate a riser in the apartment. Decorative blue-gray plaster and a recessed lighting strip makes a feature of the volume, which contains the guest bathroom.
The central cube creates diversity in the space, and causes different scenarios of movement.
The laundry room is revealed from behind a sliding door that can be left open without causing obstruction. When drawn back, an umber feature wall adds colour to the hallway.
The door to the guest bathroom is concealed with the dark plasterwork of the “cube”.
The private master bedroom suite sees a repeat of the layered, slatted wall panel treatment. The umber accent returns in the shape of a modern upholstered bed.
A swing arm wall lamp produces focussed reading light over the pillows. A stylish bedroom chair offers another comfortable reading spot in the corner of the room.
Blue artwork brightens the bedroom palette.
A grey bedroom rug brings a cosy factor to the oak laminate flooring.
Grey bedroom curtains copy the plush drapes in the living room.
A glass vase filled with stems adds a splash of greenery by the bed.
Mini bedroom pendant lights are paired at varying height over the bedside table, which compliments its tiered silhouette.
A recessed LED strip cuts down the bedroom focal wall, drawing attention to the artwork and a clean white linear console unit.
The ensuite bathroom is accessed via the dressing area, where smooth oak veneer wardrobes line the walls.
Black fixtures punctuate the guest bathroom, where blue-gray plaster contrasts with a white wet zone and floor tiles. The recessed floor-to-ceiling mirrors are the same inclusions that reflect the modern fireplace out in the living area. The mirrors help build an open, airy and lighter feel inside the compact area.
Built-in shelves thread an element of textural wood grain through the toilet cistern concealment wall.
A slatted room divider marks the entryway into the shower area.
The pedestal sink is positioned up against the slatted shower wall, where its black faucet becomes lost against the dark plaster backdrop. A slimline shelf cuts through the sink unit, extending to the side to hold toiletries and a decorative vase. A perspex stool injects a translucent umber accent into the shower enclosure.
Atmospheric light extends the warming umber accent colour through the entire shower area at night, creating a restful ambiance for unwinding at the end of a long and tiring day.
The floor plan illustrates the flow of family life around the apartment, and the peaceful divide between the private master suite and the kid’s bedroom on the other side of the layout. The laundry room provides an extra sound buffer from the youngest member of the household.

Located in a residential area of São Paulo, Brazil, the design concept for this luxury 1280 square metre home all started with the swimming pool. Designed by Matheus Farah + Manoel Maia Arquitetura, this luxurious home design centres around a huge pool that can be seen from the majority of rooms in the house, where the easy indoor-outdoor living style is bestowed. The architecture of Ibsen House was created to facilitate shared moments and connected living by way of impressively large sliding walls, whilst also providing intimate privacy. The home’s most private space is located underground, where special neon lighting and acoustic treatments shape the Redroom, the ultimate party hideaway.
Retractable walls break open the large open plan living space, fully connecting the luxurious living room with the expansive pool terrace and gardens.
A wooden volume is suspended above the kitchen diner area. Its solid wooden facade peels back with two sets of bifold shutters to reveal a modern home office space. To maintain the suspended wooden block appearance, the ceiling of the home office is also completely wood clad. Bookshelves draw colour across the back wall.
At dusk, the vast vertical garden walls are illuminated to surround the open sided home with lush greenery even after dark. The tropical leaves grow dramatic texture and form to feather the edges of the linear modern architecture.
The open layout is a coordinated plan of colour, materials and connected functionality that maintains a close relationship with the outer environment.
The layout is almost free of fixed walls. The vertical gardens and large sliding panels divide the living spaces, creating tranquil hybrid areas that cause crossed encounters.
At one end of the luxurious living room, a TV lounge is furnished with a massive bookcase that explodes colour into the grey white and wood tone decor scheme. Deep blue accent pieces provide further disruption from the neutral palette, by way of scatter cushions and statement chairs.
A large area rug defines the comfortable lounge area from the rest of the open plan by forming a cosy island of light colour and soft texture underfoot.
A formal dining area runs alongside the lengthy kitchen island at the other side of the room.
The underside of the wood-clad suspended home office volume is reflected by a solid wood kitchen island countertop. A concrete base builds cool contrast.
A second lounge is situated out on the decked terrace, right up by the swimming pool.

A bespoke built-in desk, storage units and wall shelves fill the full length of the narrow workspace.
A small indoor lounge and kitchen adjoin with the roof terrace.
The rooftop social areas offer a privileged view over the local neighbourhood. Guest rooms and other private facilities overlook the pool through large windows.
An outdoor dining set, outdoor sofas and a large jacuzzi are set upon a parade of wood decking, whilst a set of sun loungers recline upon a grassy verge.
Going underground, not only does the house hold a fitness room and a large garage but there is access to the hidden Redroom. Atmospheric red lighting and special acoustic treatments facilitate an ideal location for the homeowner’s private parties.
Red neon lights stripe the ceiling and walls of the party room, creating a glitzy nightclub appearance. An illuminated bar brightly strikes down the length of the space, making backlit silhouettes of the modern bar stools. A big TV screen is set in place for sports and events.
The wood slatted shutters that reinstate privacy cross the wide open sided volumes cause attractive light play upon the interiors.
Vertical gardens and tall tropical trees afford glass walled rooms with sunlight-filled privacy.
Exterior stairs link the terraces.
The ground floor plan makes an L-shaped arrangement around the edge of the rectangular swimming pool, placing the master suite perpendicular to the main living room.
Two stylish lounge chairs and a small table make a perfect spot for morning coffee on the bedroom deck.
The suspended deck is created by the supporting structure of the bedroom’s wide wood slatted privacy shutters.
Sleek white marble fashions a luxe bathroom interior, where black fixtures & fittings and a black toilet pan provide dark accents. A square skylight opens up the ceiling to natural daylight.
