Muted red accents add visual heat to the plain white expanses of this large, minimalist abode. Visualised by apple745428, The private residence features a laconic design that is free from excess and fuss. The mind is allowed to peacefully rest in spaces with clean-lined storage solutions, sharp furniture silhouettes, and reserved modern light installations. Red decor elements prevent the contemporary minimalist interior from appearing overly sterile or unwelcomely underdeveloped. Red accents are removed inside the master bedroom suite to present a more restful palette, but make a comeback in the bathroom with punchy red fixtures that glow under an atmospheric mood lighting scheme. Floor plan included at the end of the tour.
A red living room scheme is fashioned with a red modular sofa arrangement and overlapping red area rugs. Blank white walls create a cool backdrop for the intensity of colour at the core.
LED strips are recessed into the ceiling to softly illuminate the perimeter of the room. A central focal light installation appears as a series of different shaped boxes that are fitted flush to the ceiling.
A square wooden sofa table is integrated into the modular sofa arrangement, achieving one streamlined piece within the minimalist furniture layout. A multitude of candle holders, books, gold decorative vases, and small bowls make casual table adornments with a bright and lustrous quality.
The living room rug grouping is perfectly colour matched to the modular sofa upholstery to create an impactful colour-blocked effect.
Beside the lounge area, a large kitchen island is wrapped with the same muted shade of red. Contrasting white kitchen units build the core of the kitchen island and furnish a small appliance housing area behind it.
A low white media unit runs the length of the living room TV wall, providing subtle storage for movies, remote controls, consoles, and games.
Four black kitchen bar stools are situated at the end of the kitchen island to fashion a casual eating area.
In the home entryway, made-to-measure wardrobes provide storage for coats, shoes, and bags.
A custom-cut full length mirror fills the opposite wall, providing a convenient dressing area next to the front door.
Perimeter lighting brightens the small entryway.
In the master bedroom, an upholstered bed backs onto a fully mirrored headboard wall, which reflects natural light from the large bedroom window.
Another huge mirror covers a second wall of the bedroom, causing the room to appear twice its actual size.
The master bedroom features a generously sized walk-in closet design.
The closet is situated behind the mirrored headboard, which splits the sleep space from the entryway into the bedroom.
A tension-fit closet system keeps the storage volumes clear of the glass.
Further storage units flank one side of the bedroom doorway, whilst a door on the other side leads into an ensuite bathroom.
Inside the ensuite bathroom, a red bathroom sink unit and a matching red heated towel rail make a bold statement.
A frameless mirror is backlit to create an atmospheric lighting scheme inside the small bathroom.
The bathroom mirror conceals storage space behind the glass, with narrow shelves accessible from the side. A set of brass bathroom faucets are wall mounted in the glow that emits from beneath it.
A waterfall showerhead is embedded into the ceiling to achieve a streamlined look.
A frameless shower screen continues the minimalist aesthetic. Inside the shower area, a red toiletries shelf adds a stripe of colour.
A separate, small WC is equipped with cubist sanitaryware. A floor-standing square toilet is paired with a modern minimalist pedestal sink design. Brass fixtures punctuate bare white walls. Only a wall hung hand towel interrupts the blank perimeter.
A custom-cut vanity mirror stands tall on a plumbing concealment wall behind the pedestal sink unit. LED strips brightly accentuate the narrow mirror around its edges, creating soft illumination in the small room.
The main bathroom is a clean all-white design, with more sharp, cubist sanitaryware. Built-in storage units and shelves make use of a compact corner, creating a stow away area for messy toiletries and spare towels that might spoil the minimalist vibe.
Colour-changing LED lighting creates an extraordinary effect against the blank white canvas, bringing in the same red accent colour that enriches the rest of the home.
A deep bathroom basin stands tall on a linear white vanity unit, whilst its brass faucet protrudes directly from an edge-to-edge vanity mirror behind it. A square toilet pan is raised from the floor to make the floor space appear larger.
The wall mounted vanity unit runs straight into the minimalist bathtub design, creating one crisp uninterrupted line.
In the modern home office, a white desk is accompanied by a matching white swivel chair. A white wall sconce provides understated lighting alongside the furniture ensemble.
A small sofa drops a singular warming accent into the ice white decor scheme. A series of white storage units cover one wall of the home workspace from floor-to-ceiling, making the most of the vertical space.
Elegant, slender white floor lamps arc over the small sofa at one end, whilst a small white side table accessorises the other.
Desk drawers are freestanding beneath the worktop, which allows light from the window to filter through the gaps.
Floor plan.

Unique furniture designs add stylish wow factor turn after turn inside these two unusual minimalist home designs. Visualised by Indifference Studio, each attention-grabbing interior is styled upon a simple, pure white base that allows the more prominent pieces to proudly sing out. The designer furniture pieces take on a sculptural appeal within the gallerylike surroundings, which instils a feeling of reverence toward the extraordinary creations. With the perimeter decor taking a back seat, the eye is able to fall upon small detailing, unusual finishes, and quality workmanship. Come with us as we tour remarkable lounges, show-stopping dining rooms, minimalist bedrooms, and beautiful bathrooms.
White walls, ceiling and floor make a reflective box in which natural light is maximised. Fitted white storage cabinets continue the pure, gallery-white theme along the entire length of a TV wall in the lounge. Their handle-free, slab-fronted finish melds peacefully with the understated minimalist backdrop.
A unique, triangular floor lamp sets a cosy glow alongside the living room sofa, whilst LED ribbons paint soft perimeter light along the ceiling line.
The upholstery of the white, tufted sofa blends into the wall decor but an unusual hot red framework adds bolts of bright contrast along its base. A small side table places a moment of luxurious white marble by the arm of the couch to hold drinks but not clutter.
A white, vertical radiator fits neatly down the side of the wide living room window, adding a textural accent.
A white marble coffee table is centred in the lounge space, like a monolithic blank plinth awaiting a piece of artwork.
Matching the sofa, a modern lounge chair is adorned with red framework, which cuts vividly through the pale room palette.
In contrast to the hot red accents in the lounge area, the neighbouring dining space is cooled with blue wall art.
The blue artwork is centred above a modern dining set that sports an all-white finish.
Smooth curves shape inviting dining chairs and a modern dining table.
Marble slabs and fluted glass make up a chic partition wall between the dining room and a hallway that leads to the bedrooms and bathroom. An entryway bench is fashioned here to create a handy perch/bag shelf by the front door.
A razor-thin strip of light draws a halo around the portal to the hallway.
The halo creates an optical illusion, in that it resembles a mirror’s edge. However, the illusion is shattered by a modern wall sconce that threads from the hallway to the living space.
Inside the minimalist master bedroom, the pure white decor scheme continues.
A modern bedside unit places prominent ribbed texture against the smooth white headboard design. A deep storage drawer keeps the top of the unit entirely free from clutter; only a minimalist bedside lamp is permitted.
A wall of glass bricks share natural light from the bedroom window with the neighbouring bathroom.
Inside the bathroom, a modern linear vanity unit draws across the base of the glass brick partition wall.
The second bedroom gains subtle shading from a grey upholstered bed and a geometric rug design.
Beechwood bedside units are wall-mounted to keep the floor clear and spacious.
The living room of this home design is dominated by an extraordinary neon green sofa that knots and twists across a plain white large area rug.
On the opposite side of the large area rug, a stylish tan leather lounge chair offers a comfortable reading nook.
A small side table pulls up subtly alongside the sofa, whilst a large black coffee table commands out in front.
Black and white photographic art adds interest to the clean white living room walls.
Behind the sofa, a few decorative items dot the top of a white sideboard.
The TV wall sports a textured black finish that complements a stylish Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A9 speaker. Unique black and white poufs boldly pattern the lounge layout.
A decorative vase, candles, and a record player pull black decor accents onto the white sideboard.
The white kitchen is largely concealed behind floor-to-ceiling cabinet doors.
A white kitchen island stretches out in front, holding the sink and the hob.
In front of the kitchen island, a white dining room decor scheme comes alive with elements of natural wood tone and swirling black pattern.
The upholstered dining chairs perfectly match the design of the patterned poufs in the open concept lounge.
A simple glass vase and a sprig of greenery provide a minimalist dining table centrepiece.
As we glance into the bathroom, we discover a unique stool design, wherein a rustic wooden stool is encased within clear perspex.
Modern artwork echoes the curvaceous silhouette of the rug design.
A white bedside unit contrasts sharply against the black tufted headboard design. A strip of LEDs highlight the edge of the black headboard against the white wall, elevating the high-contrast aesthetic.
Bedtime reading is stored on a sleek white sideboard that offers a balanced combination of display shelves and concealed storage.
The bathtub area is accessorised with a small round bathroom rug and a convenient robe hook. Built-in storage units stow away fresh towels and extra toiletries.

The minimalist mood can be effectively communicated through a stark and sharp aesthetic that makes a bold impact, or can be more gently conveyed through a soothing natural setting that settles the soul. The two home interiors that we feature here today are rounded out with tactile curved edges, beautiful natural wood tone, and cushiony soft furnishings. Minimalist white backdrops are warmed up with creamy undertones that complement the natural hue of the honey toned timber elements. Home accessories are few but distinctive. Subtle lighting schemes thread around room perimeters to fashion living spaces and bedrooms that are atmospheric, welcoming, and restful to the eye.
A split level floor divides this airy, light-filled living space into a cosy sitting room and an elevated tea room/study. A round rug anchors the lounge furniture into a sociable setting. A stylish magazine holder between the sofa chaise and a window chair completes a welcoming reading nook.
The modern tufted sofa is deeply cushioned and rather irresistibly inviting. The couch backs directly onto the raised desk to strengthen the border between the two zones.
A modern fireplace warms the large living room from underneath a curvaceous chimney breast, which fluidly extrudes from the creamy wall stucco.
The projector screen descends from the ceiling when required, and tucks tidily out of sight afterward.
The slimline fireplace hearth expands beyond the firebox to form a floating media unit beneath the retractable projector screen. The stylish speaker that stands upon it is a Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A9.
A vintage car model adorns the opposite end of the floating shelf, which is atmospherically illuminated along its underside by an LED strip.
Curved wooden fascias wrap the corner of the room to fashion an attractive storage area. A recess in the units makes way for a beverage station, which is equipped with a coffee maker, water glasses and a carafe. The raised platform floor doubles as seating at the tea table/desk.
Floating wall shelves accommodate a small book collection and a few decorative items behind the bespoke table.
The dining area is bathed in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows.
The dining chairs are the Easy chair designed by Pierre Jeanneret.
Behind the dining area, the kitchen peninsula doubles as a breakfast bar.
In the bedroom, mellow wood grain envelops the serene space.
A floor bed design is dipped inside the smooth wood floor finish to place it perfectly level with the city view.
Minimalist bedside drawer units meld with the wooden headboard design. A decorative vase pulls attention with a chic silhouette.
The backside of the headboard is built out into a desk/dressing table design.
The position of the home workspace behind the headboard means that the homeowner can look out upon the view whilst working too.
WIcker chairs make a natural accompaniment to the wooden desk design.
The bedside lamps provide light to the work area also.
A partition wall splits the walk-in wardrobe from an ensuite bathroom.
A stunning bathtub makes an impressive hero piece for the room.
This warm and cosy 90 square metre apartment is located in a newly-built block of flats, where most windows face directly onto other windows. This concern was tackled with the installation of translucent cloth panels within wooden frames, which could be easily removed if needed.
The sheer fabric window panels give the interior an intimate atmosphere. Limestone walls lightly complement the warm wooden finish of the floor, accent furniture, and decorative ceiling treatment.
Two unique kitchen pendant lights draw the eye to an austere minimalist kitchen design. A limestone island unfolds over two levels, one for dining and one for prep.
An unusual kitchen bar stool stands a sculptural silhouette at the monolithic breakfast bar.
Open kitchen shelving is kept primarily bare.
The deep and decorative wooden cornice offsets the plainer aspects of the interior and emphasises the high ceiling height in the room. The geometric cornice also fully conceals the window and door lintels to create smooth portals.
The master bedroom is clad with natural wood, which creates a cosy cabin-like feel. A large, comfortable lounge chair, a slimline floor lamp, and a small wooden side table form an inviting reading corner. A footstool would make a welcome addition but instead a clear walkway is prioritised around the bed.
More privacy panels turn the bedroom windows into uniform light boxes around the perimeter.
Small bedroom pendant lights drop reading light over each side of the floor bed. Boxy bedside units and a low-level headboard are structured in wooden planks to meld with the restful decor scheme.
The bedroom flows into an open plan ensuite bathroom, which is clad in the same wooden wall treatment to achieve a cohesive aesthetic. Custom-designed wardrobes partially separate the sleep space from the bathroom to provide a level of privacy and to form the back wall of the shower.
A small, frameless vanity mirror makes an understated addition to a modern bathroom vanity unit.
There is no partition between the shower and washstand to help the compact room to feel more open and spacious.

This fresh and bright home design is the FRND House, where natural materials and colours connect with the outer environment. Designed by MCORP Architects, the 165 square metre project was designed for a young family who desired a minimalistic and airy base that promotes comfort. Flowing lines became the hinging concept for the project, which aids in an easy flow for daily family life. Large windows keep the family connected to their attractive garden, and bring natural illumination to the open plan living space throughout the day. The kids’ rooms are uplifted with colourful accents, in shades of breezy sky blue and a warm tint of persimmon.
A wood grain focal wall makes the minimalist lounge space into a warm and inviting area. The rounded, pillowy modern sofa looks just too soft and comfortable to resist.
The projector-friendly living room features a retractable screen that descends in front of a wall mounted TV. The wood panelling that backs the sofa area continues seamlessly up and over the ceiling to join with the media wall on the opposite side of the room, forming a cosy cabin-like cocoon. A slimline floating media unit underlines the wood panelling with a clean white finish.
The living room dining room combo benefits from large floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in copious amounts of natural light and an attractive view of the lush green garden lawn.
A plethora of Indoor plants bring nature inside, which are beautifully complemented by the expanses of natural wood grain.
Rounded wood effect cabinets smoothly edge the kitchen installation. Their tone is matched to the wraparound panelling in the lounge to achieve a cohesive aesthetic.
Monstera and ferns create both height and length along the ceiling-mounted shelf.
Out in the entryway, a full-length mirror breaks up a wall of mellow wood grain.
A muted green entryway bench is parked beside the mirror to fashion a convenient dressing area. A small floating shelf offers a spot to throw down keys and cell phones.
Light from the bedroom windows is shared with the hallway via a frosted glass door and partition wall.
Inside the bedroom, a wood-panelled headboard wall makes a warming focal point in a predominantly white decor scheme. Two black bedroom pendant lights contrast starkly against the natural backdrop.
At the foot of the bed, a double workplace is well lit by a multidirectional light fixture.

A unique bathroom sink is teamed with a modern wall mounted faucet. A frameless mirror crosses the wall of the vanity area, which is atmospherically lit around its edge by strips of soft LED light.
The over bath shower screen is frameless along its outer edge to produce a minimalistic finish.
At the opposite end of the fitted bathtub, a tower of handy toiletries shelving is recessed into the stucco. LED shelf lights make a ladder of attractive and functional illumination.
In the first of two kids’ rooms, a sky blue decor scheme achieves a breezy, cheerful look. The blue wall colour is applied in an ombre effect that fades to white behind the kid’s bed.
A cute sloth plush toy nestles into raised sides of the upholstered kid’s bed, which joins onto a padded window seat.
On the adjacent wall, a bank of kids’ wardrobes and open toy shelves are finished in a perfectly coordinated sky blue finish. Large and chunky wardrobe door handles add fun adornments.
A small white pendant light hangs above a contrasting black bedside table.
The final wall is dedicated to a kid’s study area. Decorative wall shelves store books above the kid’s desk.
The second kid’s room is accented with warm hints of persimmon orange. A pattern mural forms an eye-catching focal wall behind the headboard.
Curved wooden wall panels wrap the sides of a cosy window seat.
A bright orange side table tucks between the bed and the window seat to serve both areas.
We see a repeat of the decorative wall shelves in this kid’s study area too but this time with an orange twist. The legs of the kid’s desk are given a matching orange finish to pull the elements of the small workspace together.
The family bathroom has a simple, raw concrete decor scheme that’s topped with a smooth white rendered crown. Natural light floods into the narrow space via clerestory windows and perimeter LEDs add to the bright glow. A minimalistic shower screen closes off a large shower area beside the wall hung toilet. Wall mounted WC accessories keep the floor area looking clear and spacious.
A wood effect vanity unit appears to extrude from an adjacent wood panelled statement wall. A vase of greenery makes a fresh addition beside the modern vessel basin and a matt white bathroom faucet.

A unique modern staircase dominates one open plan living area, rising up to the second story like a stack of sliding volumes with storage tucked inside the base. Unusual sofas dot minimalist living areas, and chic home workspaces slot in with bespoke desk designs. There’s even a kid’s bedroom that delivers extraordinary fun factor with a zany novelty bed and wall mural. Throughout our collection of home tours we’ll find open and interesting layout concepts that create clear zoning, spacious rooms that are lined with sleek, bespoke storage units, and exceptional bathrooms with split level floors.
Our first modern Chinese minimalist interior is a warm white space with large windows. Storage units line the wall with Shoji screen inspired doors–becasue although the Shoji is accepted as a Japanese home feature, they were born from the folding screens of China. Two dining pendant lights resemble upturned Chinese oil-paper umbrellas.
A modern sofa divides the spacious living area into two parts, the dining room and the lounge.
The living room stands open to the entryway, where the wood laminate floor is switched out for a more hardwearing, easy-clean stone tile.
A round decorative wall mirror makes a large and light-reflective wall feature in the compact entry space. The mirror features an integrated entryway shelf, where a reed diffuser emits a welcoming scent by the front door.
Cushions on the sectional sofa remain understated in colour-coordinated off-white upholstery.
The rectangle wooden coffee table has a traditional Chinese silhouette, which is loosely reminiscent of the multilevel roof overhangs of Chinese tower architecture.
Four small dining benches are inspired by antique rustic milking stools.
A wide doorway gives entry into the kitchen area, where a single row of wooden base cabinets and a white appliance housing unit form a minimalist design. A deluxe stone backsplash morphs into a single open shelf above the kitchen sink and gas hob.
The hard-wearing stone tile floor treatment that we first saw in the home entryway is repeated here in the kitchen, where it will withstand the punishment of dropped pans and food spills.
In the bedroom, a modern platform bed is positioned exactly centre to create a perfectly symmetrical layout between two closet doors.
The doors of the walk-in closet are a wood slatted design, which allows natural light to be shared between the dressing area and the sleep space. Wood grain panels make a mellow headboard design behind the double bed.
The wood slatted closet doors slide neatly into the head of the bed to open entry into the dressing area.
The slatted door design also enables a sneak peek of the clothing collection that lies inside the dressing room. Illuminated shelves and garment rails highlight the pristinely organised designer clothing array.
Behind the wooden headboard wall, a vanity chair pulls up at a floating dressing table. A large, round vanity mirror is illuminated around its edge, causing it to brightly stand out against the wood grain.
An illuminated bathroom mirror is set above a double sink vanity unit, which lights a neat alcove. The shallow alcove has been formed with matching bathroom storage units which build peaceful balance.
A fresh towel shelf cuts beneath the unique bathroom sink and through the flanking storage units, fashioning a bespoke finish.
A frameless glass shower area maintains the bathroom’s generous proportions.
One section of the bathroom floor is raised to accommodate plumbing beneath the bathtub. The raised platform presents a sense of ceremony around the tub too, elevating relaxation time.
Our second modern Chinese home is an art-filled abode. The modern living room dining room combo showcases a terrarium that’s splashed with Mother Nature’s own elegant art.
White-on-white decor creates calm surroundings. Even the Samsung Serif TV fits into the room palette with a crisp white frame.
A striped living room rug adds a moment of pattern and personality to the minimalist white living room. A stainless steel coffee table places cool, sharp metallic contrast on top of the soft, inviting carpet. At the other end of the living room, a glass cabinet displays colourful Bearbrick art.
The dining table is a cantilevered design that protrudes from a structural wall between the kitchen and the hallway.
The cooking hob is tucked around a corner, out of sight from the dining area. A modern, minimalist fruit bowl makes a low profile centrepiece on the wall mounted dining table.
A dividing wall of storage units separates the lounge from a double workspace. KAWS art is proudly displayed in a glass case inside the home office entryway.
A zebra print rug calls attention to a narrow, light-filled reading nook that’s next door to the living room.
The light art looks to be a James Turrell.
Green accents vividly colour this Chinese minimalist living room design. Behind the sofa, a circular green acrylic screen sets a curved shape theme, which is echoed in a large round rug, and a uniquely curvaceous sofa design.
An unusual floor lamp adds a stark black accent in front of the large living room window.
A small side table punctuates the end of the sofa with another nod to Chinese tower architecture.
Opposite the twisted sofa, the TV is retracted into its stand.
There is a second eye-catching green acrylic disc that protrudes from the ceiling, above a modern chaise lounge chair.
A curvaceous folded screen distorts light from the window.
The foot of the modern staircase design is marked by a brightly burning light tube.
In the master bedroom, wooden wardrobes warm the predominantly white decor scheme.
Glossy white curves undulate across the headboard. Wall art calls in the green accent colour
In the second double bedroom, a bright green stripe carves through a custom-made headboard design.
An angular, dual sided sofa design cuts through the centre of this living space, offering multidirectional seating. An eye-catching floor lamp adds extra flair to the unique arrangement.
An angular armchair matches with the modern sofa design.
In place of an unappealing black TV screen, a projector screen unfurls in front of the white living room wall. A simple bench underlines the retractable screen.
Over in one corner of the living room, a stylish home workspace is situated by the large window. A bespoke desk design is given a colourful finish with shades of prussian blue and british racing green. An indoor plant complements the lively aesthetic.
The home office nook by the window also doubles as a bright piano room. Built-in shelves hold music books close to hand.
There is also a handy book nook situated inside the base tread of a unique modern staircase design, which climbs to the upper floor of the home as a stack of extruded volumes.
Recessed LED lights slice highlights into the warm white walls, where natural stone details build tactile moments.
3D relief wall art adds to the textural aesthetic of the home.
Unique end tables wrap the modern sofa, offering practical surfaces for drinks, snacks and reading material.
A tower of wall shelves neatly occupy the alcove behind the unique lounge chair. Their natural wood grain finish ties in smoothly with light oak flooring.
The open layout flows directly into a spacious kitchen and dining area. A central kitchen island marks the change in function.
Three muted green dining chairs add a little colour to the formal dining area. A contemporary grey dining bench brings an unusual silhouette.
A simple glass vase of botanics creates an understated table centrepiece.
Kitchen base cabinets carry a modern handle-free, slab fronted aesthetic, whilst the island units are attractively framed. Two separate sinks serve the prep areas, each with a different chrome faucet design.
Glass blocks fashion a muxarabi screen at the top of the staircase, which brings natural light flooding in over the treads and the landing.
A modern bedside table lamp provides focussed reading light at either side of the pillows.
The kid’s bedroom is a fabulously fun design with a pink bunny themed kids’ bed. Turquoise decor accents make cool contrast.
A palm tree wall mural adds tropical vibes behind the novelty bed. Blush pink bedside units flank the headboard.
A gold bedside table lamp joins in with the rabbit themed bedroom scheme with cute bunny ears.
Our final modern Chinese minimalist home design is a slightly smaller space. Split level flooring and built-in benches provide added interest and helpful zoning.
Houndstooth print scatter cushions and a matching accent throw place bold black and white accents across a small beige sofa.
A projector screen drops down in front of built-in storage units, which float weightlessly off the floor. Their wall mounted design keeps floor space clear to visually increase the proportions of the living room.
Indoor plants bring the uplifting spirit of the outdoors.
Behind the living room sofa, a stylish home office space features made-to-measure furniture and a modern desk design.
Dreamy artwork is propped on a long media shelf that spans the length of the lounge.
Handle-free white units give the kitchen a fresh and clean look.
White countertops brightly reflect natural daylight.
Inside the bedroom, a wood slat accent wall is sandwiched between floating wall units to make a bespoke headboard wall.
The upholstered platform bed sets down a contrasting grey accent.
Pale sage drapes frame the large bedroom window.
The final bedroom contains another run of floating white storage units, along with a split level floor that can serve as a bed base should the need arise.
A floating desk is built onto the wood wall panelling, making one continuous wooden border around the room.
A wood desk chair blends peacefully with the matching backdrop.
The bathroom doubles as a laundry room. A stacked washing machine and tumble dryer tuck neatly into the corner of the space, leaving plenty of room for a modern vanity unit and an over-bath shower.
