Where to Shop : Bargain Primark Homeware for SS22

A selection of Primark Homeware pieces from the SS22 range arranged on two chunky wooden wall shelves

Primark Homeware isn’t generally a preference of mine when it comes to buying soft furnishings or small accessories for my home. Primark has always seemed to be extremely low quality to me so I generally avoid it and opt for products that are made to last. Fast fashion isn’t something that my conscience will allow me to invest in and the same goes for homeware. I don’t want pieces that will last a season before ending up in landfill.

Having said that, the new Primark Homeware range for SS22 really caught my eye recently. You all know by now that I adore texture in the home, I love warm autumnal and neutral colour palettes and organic shapes and patterns are definitely right up my street. I’m a big fan of the trend for organic minimalism that I wrote about a few weeks ago and the pieces in this new range would work so well for that trend. But they would also work well if you are trying to achieve the much sought after Japandi aesthetic.

Now obviously I cannot vouch for the quality as I have not seen any of these pieces in the flesh to make that judgement, but I sure as hell will be hot-footing it to the nearest Primark Homeware section tout suite to check it out in person.

I probably wouldn’t go for any of the textiles, as I’ve bought blankets and cushions from Primark before and they just don’t last long due to the poor quality. But these little vases, bowls, candles and decorative bits might just be ok. Fingers crossed!

16 Homeware Gift Ideas that Mum Will Love

16 Homeware Gift Ideas that Mum Will Love

As it is International Women’s Day today, I thought it would be the perfect day to share my Mother’s Day Gift Guide for 2022. Obviously, I will be focussing on homeware gifts so if your mother loves her home and enjoys nothing more than creating a cosy nest, hopefully, you will find some nice Mother’s day gift ideas for her here.

When it comes to my Mother’s Day gift guide, I always like to turn my attention to Etsy (affiliate) because I can find lots of lovely homewares from smaller independent makers. I know that what I will be sharing won’t be the gifts that half the mums in the country will be receiving on Mothering Sunday. I always liked to seek out things that are a bit more unique, possibly handcrafted and created with love. Plus we all know just how important it is to support our maker economy.

I struggle every year trying to find the perfect gift for my own mother. Sadly, she doesn’t share my obsession with interiors so these gift guides are no help to me personally. I will be seeking out running-related gifts for my own mum. But creating these guides for you really help me to indulge my love for homeware gifting.

So I have tried to round up a good selection of gifts that would be appropriate if your mother enjoys plants, cooking, self-care or decorating. Obviously, you can get all sorts of gifts on Etsy from jewellery to clothing and crafting to entertainment. But I shall just be focussing on homeware gifts in this guide.

Where to Shop : W.A. Green for Quirky Homeware

Where to Shop : W.A. Green for Quirky Homeware

If you are always on the lookout for quirky homeware, I’ve got you! I recently stumbled across W.A. Green. Run by Zoe Anderson, W.A. Green is the home of colourful, unusual and quirky homeware. It is self-professed dopamine for the home.

Now if you know me well enough, you’ll know that I have spent years overcoming my fear of colour. I’m not at a point where I can much more confidently bring colour into my home, although I do still play it reasonably safe. I’m definitely not ready to embrace the trend for Joyous Maximalism quite yet. Bt I feel like proponents of a more eclectic, playful and unexpected style would really appreciate the carefully curated collection that awaits consumers at W.A. Green.

That’s not to say that there isn’t something for everyone. By carefully choosing your colour palette it is quite possible to pull together a scheme that much more firmly fits into the Organic Minimalism camp.

One thing is for sure though, the trailblazers amongst you will love this store as you will almost certainly find something here that you have never seen before, and that is saying something, especially for a seasoned pro like myself who is always on the hunt for something interesting and original.

For those of you who care deeply about your environmental impact and have strong ethics, you’ll be happy to know that Zoe focuses heavily on sustainability, fairtrade and craftsmanship. She believes in giving back and buying to last.

Due to the pandemic, Zoe sadly had to close the doors on her Shoreditch store and pivot the business entirely online. Whilst this is a shame it is also good news for those of us who are not based in London. With such a beautiful selection of quirky homeware to choose from, it is obvious to see that there is a bright future ahead for W.A. Green. What do you think?

Below you will see some of my favourite quirky homeware products from the W.A. Green store. That Snoopy plate is my favourite.

Where to Shop : Price & Coco for affordable luxury homewares

Affordable luxury homewares from Price & Coco Interiors. Vase of pampas grass on a rattan bedside table against a blue wall.

Today, as part of my Where to Shop series, I’d like to introduce you to a fabulous online interiors store that sells a beautiful array of affordable luxury homewares. Doesn’t that just make your heart stop a beat? Affordable luxury! That is what we want, right? I’ve always had champagne taste but a beer budget so it’s music to my ears when I find such homewares that are within budget but that can give my home that luxury look.

Price and Coco Interiors is run by Kim Price who decided to set up the business during lockdown when she had more time on her hands and was able to rethink what she wanted from her career. Having previously worked as a sales rep for various agricultural companies whilst raising her son, the pandemic prompted her to pursue her passion for interiors instead and with the full support of her husband, Price and Coco Interiors was born.

“Simplistic, minimalistic and clean with a bit of quirky added in” is how Kim describes her personal design style. She has always loved the Scandinavian style, which is very clearly reflected in her product range which she sources from the Netherlands or Scandinavia.

Quality is the key factor for Kim as she only buys from companies that supply the quality she would want for herself in her own home. She also tries to focus on being as sustainable as possible and looks for suppliers that are in the process of putting in sustainable policies themselves.

My personal favourite from Kim’s affordable luxury homewares range has got to be the NATUR collection. Inspired by nature and Japanese minimalism, the vases all have beautiful organic shapes and are highly textured which makes me want to reach out and run my fingers across the surfaces.

Below I have rounded up some of my favourite products from the entire online offering of affordable luxury homewares.
