Refined and reposeful in soothing shades of grey, white and beige, this 255 square metre modern interior design achieves an air of easy elegance. Visualised by Muro Bureau, the chic home in Kyiv, Ukraine, is brought to life with tactile, textured moments of rattan, plush upholstery, warming wood grain and on-trend ribbed feature walls. The ground floor plan has been opened up to adjoin the tasteful living spaces, creating flow whilst maintaining clear zoning. The stylish and calming aesthetic is modified into a fun and functional kids’ playroom design, to create one cohesive vibe for the whole family. Floor plan and 3D perspective drawing are included at the end of the tour.
With the furniture moved in toward the centre of the room, the lounge layout realises an easy circulation of space in which the fireplace is brought right up close and cosy to the end of the modern sofa, leaving the focal wall in front purely for the heat-sensitive TV set.
A pale grey rug creates a core for the beige furniture arrangement.
Black nesting coffee tables darkly complement the modern fireplace aesthetic and its matching fireplace accessories. A coffee table book and a black Eames bird make simple but effective adornments.
A black linear TV stand underlines a textural wall of ribbed gypsum, which has been given a light grey painted finish.
A chaise backs onto the partition wall, whilst a unique modern ottoman takes its place in front of the window.
Plush grey curtains not only dress the window but soften the divide between the lounge and dining spaces.
A modern chandelier falls above the reuleaux-triangle coffee table set.
The floor changes from white oak laminate to microcement toward the fireplace and window wall, where the microcement finish encapsulates the chimney breast and a raised sill.
The grey rug echoes the tone of the raw cement.
As we move through the open concept living space into the kitchen diner space, we first encounter a wood rectangle dining table with chic grey cushioned modern dining chairs.
Above the modern dining set, a pair of oversized wicker pendants create a wonderful texture enriched moment. The eye-catching feature calls attention to the impressive ceiling height over the eating area.
A reed diffuser and candles create a scented centrepiece, alongside a decorative vase of botanics.
A glass wall admits additional light from the upper floor of the house, and expands upon the dining room’s open and spacious feel.
A narrow, structural partition wall has been transformed into an attractive room element with smooth wood panel casing and a small wall mounted TV.
Upholstered Gubi Beetle counter stools create curves along the kitchen island.
Atmospheric lighting creates a warm and cosy welcome inside the home entryway. The mood lighting emphasises a wall of ribbed texture behind an en vogue racetrack shaped mirror, and also highlights the floating nature of the entryway table.
A stylish ottoman tucks neatly underneath the wall mounted unit. Sleek black coat hooks emerge from grey granite tile.
Modern plant stands accessorise the space beneath the modern staircase design. Glass balustrades maintain the open feel of the ground floor and allow the glow of the stair lights to brightly shine through.
A cut log store has been built into the fireplace wall in the lounge. The useful feature doubles as a focal point at the end of the hallway.
Whilst the large living space resides at the back of the property, a small snug/playroom is situated just off the home entryway at the front. Custom-made storage units make full use of the room’s added height.
Another grey rug sets down a soft base on the oak laminate flooring here. This time, a practical dark grey upholstery colours the sofa.
Sturdy nesting coffee tables endure kids’ play.
The small sofa is just large enough for cuddles during cartoon time.
A modern linear wall light spreads reading light along the length of the couch. A small side table stands by for snacks and drinks.
An indoor plant enlivens the neutral space with some fresh greenery. A clean white TV stand melds quietly with the light flooring and white walls, and hides away the colourful clutter of games and DVDs.
The corner of the room is occupied by a cute table and kids’ chairs set.
An interactive chalkboard and pegboard wall encourage creativity and organisational skills.
A kids’ gym wall and toy storage tower complete the playful room elements.
The ground floor walk-in closet is accessed via a short passage off the hall, which also links with an attached single car parking garage and a utility area.

A cistern concealment wall simplifies the bathroom layout. The void in the top is utilised as useful storage space.

Deep brown, soothing grey & clean white decor shades these three classy contemporary home interiors, visualised by Mai Trang Nguyen. The calming neutrals meld with chic furniture arrangements to fashion living spaces that are reposeful and on point. Each of these stylish home designs feature inspiration for modestly scaled open concept living spaces and small kitchen ideas, beautiful lighting designs and eye-catching accessories. Home design number one is a luxe, high-end expression of taste; interior number two explores an adventurous space themed decor scheme; design three gives us a shape led interpretation with modish racetrack outlines and interior arches, whilst home four simplifies the palette for a small space.
A russet brown modular sofa adds tremendous heat to dark grey and cool white surroundings in our first featured home interior. A black and white houndstooth throw washes a moment of light relief over the sofa upholstery.
Above the lounge and adjoining dining area, a black painted ceiling creates drama and wow factor.
The modern dining room comes alive under the glow of an artistic wall light; golden accents gleam warmly under the illumination. An exquisite marble tabletop makes a shapely oval outline amidst modern dining chairs.
A fabulous TV wall has been constructed with an eye-catching ribbed panel behind the TV screen. The textured, inverted arch reflects the sofa’s hot russet brown hue.
Wine storage is showcased under bright LED ribbons close by the kitchen run. The wine storage cabinet balances out an entryway storage unit on the opposite side of an glamorously gold wrapped entryway bench.
The bowed golden recess in the entryway complements a stunning curved kitchen island design with a champagne gold base.
The island is extended at one end to include a breakfast bar. Lustrous gold framed kitchen bar stools further elevate the look.

The base kitchen cabinets have been framed with a champagne gold racetrack-shaped motif, which perfectly matches the entryway cabinets. This cohesivity gives the impression of a much wider kitchen space.
A black marble countertop and upstand create a bold divide between the light upper and lower units. A glossy black fridge-freezer continues the dark accent.
Our second interior design features some adventurous space themed decor, with mini astronauts landing on the surface of a space-age inspired coffee table. A modern wall sconce sets a celestial aura against the pale grey living room wall.
A unique modern sofa forms a futuristic silhouette under white upholstery, whilst the modern lounge chair plants a deep brown accent.
Phases of the moon wall lights transition across the dining area.
Two different styles of modern dining chairs gather interest around a unique oval dining table.
Wood flooring warms the lounge area, whilst cool white tile cleanly defines the kitchen and dining zone.
Ribbed cabinet doors texturally define the upper units in the all-white kitchen design.
A full moon waxes in the moody grey and black bedroom scheme. The moon wall light nibbles away the corner of a ribbed gypsum headboard feature; LED light ribbons around the edges.
Black frosted glass allows shadowy clothing silhouettes to mysteriously show through the walls of the walk-in closet.
The second bedroom in this home is a space themed kids’ room, where a wall mural depicts the moon in close orbit to the bed.
A floating kids’ desk is mounted onto an extended headboard design, which creates a smooth flow across the room.
In our third featured home design, brown is promoted from a small accent to the main focal colour of the room. Here, we see a solid rich brown TV wall, which melts into the hallway that leads to the bedrooms.
An unusual brown and greige upholstered sofa design reflects the solid brown feature wall. A perfectly coordinated rug calls attention to the sofa’s two-tone characteristic. A racetrack shaped coffee table and a racetrack bench seat lead a curvaceous theme.
The L-shaped kitchen installation draws upon the brown accent colour for a tiled backsplash.
A piece of wall art ties together the brown accent and arched decor themes.
Finally, our fourth featured home design is a small space that gleans wonderful depth from the deep brown, grey and white palette. A small curvy sofa and round footstool are sharply contrasted by a hexagonal coffee table, though all meld under gentle grey finishes.
Globe pendant lights drop a modern focal point over the centre of the room, whilst classic bust sculptures bring art history to a bespoke, built-in TV unit with integrated storage and bookshelves.

Subtle grey decor covers this modern apartment interior with a sense of calm and sophistication, whilst classic details add history and character. Visualised by Alexander Belkov, the home is designed to encompass the modernly coveted open plan living space arrangement with a large kitchen dining island and a dedicated spot for the obligatory home workspace. The master bedroom is a serene grey and white split scheme, where a houndstooth upholstered bed adds a fashionable yet playful interaction with the plainer parts. Traditional intricate crown moulding and ultra contemporary strip lights create beautiful contradiction. A stunning bathroom receives a final hint of neoclassical charm from smartly panel moulded walls, defined under soft mood lighting and sharp black finishes.

Black venetian blinds accent the series of large windows within the plain white painted wall.
A small wraparound side table draws the black accent over to the soft white sectional sofa arrangement.
Traditional, intricate crown moulding frames a ceiling of modern, recessed strip lights. Directional spotlights provide more focussed illumination.
At the back of the open plan living room layout, the kitchen is tucked off into one corner. The positioning establishes clear zoning, and keeps the daily kitchen mess and clutter out of plain sight of the relaxation spaces.
An induction hob is bedded into the other end of the white quartz kitchen island; an integrated extractor provides a streamlined finish.
White floor tiles glow bright beneath a long strip light. Under-cabinet lights focus on the kitchen sink and prep area at the rear. A tower unit on each side evenly balances out the kitchen run, where they house an integrated oven and the fridge-freezer.
The white home entryway is warmed through by a wall of wood veneer closets. Recessed perimeter lighting highlights the attractive wood grain.
A huge round mirror adorns the opposite wall of the square home entryway. The backlit design makes an uplifting feature in the grey painted wall. Two modern rustic stools furnish the limited floor area.
Moving into the master bedroom, a houndstooth print bed lays out a playfully patterned centrepiece.
The serene bedroom has a grey and white split scheme, where a raised grey panel along the headboard wall conceals an LED ribbon. The LEDs emit a golden aura around a contemporary bedside table, which matches the silhouette of the side table out in the lounge.
At the other edge of the upholstered bed, a different style of side table changes up the aesthetic. Modern bedside lamps drop in a hot pop of red.
The large, textured area rug creates a soft walkway around the bed, and connects it with a unique dressing table by the window.
A raised wooden plinth basks in the glow from the warm white LEDs, and provides an extra drop zone for phones and books.

The modern bathroom vanity features a ribbed base unit, which provides tactile contrast to the smooth stone countertop and integrated basin.
The ceiling is edged with an LED strip above the vanity unit, to provide focussed task light above a frameless vanity mirror.
A wall mounted gunmetal grey faucet adds edgy modernity at the sink.
Dark bathroom fixtures sharply define the key areas of the bathroom. A modern flush plate puncturates the toilet area, whilst a wide valve plate is centralised inside the shower enclosure.
A second niche of tower shelving furnishes the shower space design.
Panel moulding gives the bathroom elegant, neoclassical flair.
