These bold rustic interludes disrupt the formality of the classical backdrop, creating a stylistic meld that is welcoming, warm, and earthy. Visualised by 霸都THES, this home is a unique example of aesthetical amalgamation, where one approach does not outweigh the other. We will discover inspiration for rustic feature walls, a unique arched fireplace, unusual lighting designs, a statement green kitchen, and a remarkable entryway.
As we enter the lofty neoclassical living room, we’re met with a juxtaposition of earthy, rustic design elements. Raw timber accent furniture pieces dot a large area rug with interesting tones and texture.
A live-edge coffee table fills the centre of the neoclassical living room with a relaxed freeform silhouette. A unique pendant light makes an eye-catching statement above it, whilst an unusual arched fireplace design draws attention up front.
A neat stack of coffee table books and a light-reflective decorative bowl smartly accessorise the rustic coffee table.
Two contrasting modern sofa designs make a visually interesting furniture arrangement. The combination of white and beige upholstery prevents the room from appearing too formal.
Three rustic wooden panels are installed behind the beige living room sofa to create a focal point. A circular section has been stained a darker hue on each panel to add a stylistic element that complements the arches in the room.
A wood burning stove heats the corner of the lounge, which combats the chill from the window.
The wood burner comes in addition to the sleek, curved fireplace design on the opposite wall of the room.
A rustic floor lamp complements the timber-clad feature wall.
A cushioned lounge chair stands opposite the beige sofa in a conversational layout.
The deep window recess serves as an ideal spot for seasonal decor.
A rustic side table stands beside the couch for drinks.
The wall stucco is applied in a raw, rustic fashion around an alcove. Inside the alcove, a series of shelves display an assortment of candlesticks and decorative vases.
The lounge chair is teamed with an extraordinary rustic floor lamp. The stem of the lamp looks like part of a tree, unchanged and beautiful in its natural form.
An archway leads off the hallway of the home into the neighbouring kitchen.
Another large archway leads to the main staircase. At this side of the living space, a pair of rustic stools round out the furniture arrangement. The small pieces allow the eye to wander unobstructed between open plan areas.
A rustic feature wall is rounded at its edge, creating a tactile finish.
Large format floor tiles flow continuously from one room to the next the achieve calm cohesivity,
The fluid layout moves smoothly into a spacious and airy dining room.
A round pedestal dining table is positioned centrally in the room, beneath a textural dining room pendant light. Intricate ceiling coving brings delicate detail to the perimeter of the room.
Modern wall art adds a splash of colour to the beige dining room decor scheme. A small wooden curio cabinet reflects the sunlight from a wall of glazed patio doors, which lead out into a pretty green landscape.
A display shelf unit fits within a wall of rich wood cladding. Arch motif ornaments and terrazzo vases make a trendy exhibition.
Open doorways on either side of the display shelves allow easy entry to the kitchen. The open concept makes this a great house for entertaining guests and extended family.
Brown leather chairs seat up to six people around the imposing table design. A unique ceramic vase filled with greenery makes an attractive dining table centrepiece.
Wood panelling in the dining room matches the wooden kitchen cabinets, which creates a united and restful visual. A sliver of green kitchen backsplash peeps around the corner to excite intrigue.
A matching green throw is strewn across a directors chair in the kitchen, making a comfortable spot to sit and peruse cook books.
The colourful artwork in the kitchen is a piece entitled Head of a Priest by Francis Newton Souza.
The kitchen island is a curved, monolithic form, set at the centre of a minimalistic layout.
Handle-free wooden cabinets maintain a streamlined kitchen aesthetic, which keeps the tiled green backsplash as the protagonist of the story.
A modern faucet makes an elegant arch on top of the kitchen island.
The wide hallway of the home is illuminated with modern black track lights.
Track lights lead all the way to the entryway, where an assortment of storage furniture pieces and seating make up an eclectic group.
At one side of the foyer, an entryway bench is built into a striking round recess. Rustic stonework comes alive under the soft glow of golden perimeter lighting.

Neoclassical design is all about elegance and sophistication but what are some of the key elements that bring this look together with success? In this collection of 51 stunning neoclassical living rooms, we’ll walk you through the design details that will help you create your very own. From highly decorative boiserie and deep crown moulding to fabulous furniture and captivating lighting, we’ll see how these interiors are layered into a look of luxury. We’ll also study the architectural features that take neoclassical living rooms to the next level, including stunning windows, beautiful archways, and grand doorways, plus the exquisite accessories that finish off the neoclassical fashion with flair.
Art and archways. In this vast and luxurious living room, large art has been framed within a spectacular arched recess that’s flanked by exquisite golden wall lights and decorative boiserie. This arched art installation could be scaled down to suit smaller abodes to a similarly glorious effect.

This archway is a device to elegantly separate the lounge from the kitchen in a wide, open-plan layout. The arched architecture inspires a set of curved lounge furniture, and rounded dining room silhouettes.
Small-scale archways. In a smaller, more modern architectural realm, interior archways can be introduced by shearing off the corner of a square doorway or introducing surface elements like this inverted arch modern fireplace.
Crystal reflections. A crystal chandelier introduces a chic and classical shimmer. This one casts its light upon the dark interludes of two luxe black marble coffee tables.
Dark and daring. The delicacy of boiserie is most commonly displayed under a fine white finish but dark decor is befitting of neoclassical design too. This living room combines both colour palettes with a high contrast archway and neighbouring chamber.
Modern melds. Whilst boiserie and crown moulding set out a classical backdrop, furniture can strike a highly contemporary note, like this fashionably fluted coffee table and fun faux fur bench.

A roundly tufted sofa design is a match made in heaven for the neoclassical style, as are the looped arches of an aesthetically wired light fitting.
Marble magnetism. In this elegant abode, boiserie is swapped out for a more linear panel moulding design. The plainer wall treatment makes a calm companion for a wide white marble slab, which is complemented by a matching marble coffee table and side table.

Archway colonnade. The archways in this design are a run of windows that make up a smart colonnade. An inverted arch pendant light extends the aesthetic.
Intricate inspiration. The intricate scrolls within this deep crown moulding design inspire a circle chandelier, an arc floor lamp, complementary relief art, and a unique rug.
On the contrary, the shape theme in this home shows a sharp and linear edge, proving there’s not only one side to the coin.
Modern and magnificent. This modern living room chandelier hangs from a breathtakingly beautiful ceiling rose, surrounded by an additional outer ring of enchanting moulding.
Strike an edgy note. Whilst all of the classical decorative details are prevalent in this interior, there is a decidedly bolder personality burning through. A focal piece of edgy artwork draws the eye with a neon strikethrough, underlined by a bold maroon sofa and joined by two extraordinary pendant lights.
Another quirky piece of art steals the limelight here, alongside a stunning traditional fireplace.
Soothing symmetry. Two rounded lounge chairs face two arched windows and a pair of matching floor lamps in this city apartment. Two more arches on the adjacent wall draw their own symmetrical conclusion.
Another symmetrical triumph, this living room is perfectly balanced with facing white armchairs, a centrally placed coffee table, sofa, and living room art that’s evenly flanked by modern wall sconces.
Fuchsia infusions make a startling colour palette alongside classical artwork and traditional boiserie.
Battle of the focal points. In a neoclassical decor scheme, you don’t have to settle for just one statement piece. Consider building a fabulous TV wall with chic white marble and backlit shelves, go all-out on boiserie, and crown the whole show with a stunning chandelier.
Cosy curves. With a soft and serene approach, this living space is a soothing space to hang out in. A rounded sofa, curved lounge chair, and circular coffee tables complement the elegant silhouette of a wide archway beside the window.
Fluted and fanciful. Hitting the modern interiors texture trend, this round coffee table and upholstered bench introduce fluted lines into a fanciful setting of eye-catching boiserie and modern wall sconces.
Reflective and restful. Tiled floors do a great job of reflecting the light and providing a high-class shine. With that said, an additional large area rug will make the space feel comfortably cohesive and restful.
In a double height living room, go big with light fixtures and hang them in multiples of differing lengths. Boiserie panels should stretch floor-to-ceiling to draw the eye all the way up in one uninterrupted sweep.
A brown leather sofa offers an earthy base within a light and ornate scene.
Relaxed furniture and handwoven rugs create a joyous counterbalance for more formal detailing.
Bold black and white contrast and modern artwork infuse quirky character.

Blue based. With a perimeter of clean white wainscotting, a dark blue sofa lays down a colour-rich base that exudes easy sophistication. Colour-matched artwork expands upon the hue.
This brighter blue sofa, scatter cushions, side table and contrasting orange artwork mark out an upbeat conversational setting that skims the perimeter of a round rug.
A smaller-scale version of a round rug lounge arrangement.
In the mood. All of the colours and textures of this living room design are brought together in one piece of living room art, which looks distinctly like a mood board.
Just because you have a sophisticated interior doesn’t mean that you can’t have a little fun. This lounge ensemble employs the bird-themed Moooi Perch Floor Light to shake up its refined look.
A collection of favourite things. For those with eclectic tastes, a white boiserie backdrop makes an ideal blank canvas for a wildly contrasting assortment of living room furniture and accessories.
When mounting a TV, effectively navigate a panel moulded wall with a floating TV mount–even if it’s just colour-matched to the wall.
Red, white, blue, and regal, this place looks fit for a king and queen.
Both classic and contemporary, the arch trend can be introduced in many forms.
In this room, the most prominent arches come in the form of a modern chandelier with a colourful finish.
Break loose of conventions. One person’s serenity is another person’s prison, so break out with pieces that make you happy.
Sit back and observe. With so much spectacular beauty within the walls themselves, simply lay back and take it in from low-slung lounge furniture.
A bounty of burgundy and teal accents create a decadent palette.
The minimalist mood. With so much decorative detail, is there a need for much more?
Expect the unexpected. Take decorative wall moulding to another level with bright pitstops of colour, and utilise quirky artwork to lead the eye roaming again.
Time for wine. Use those high ceilings for backlit towers of tempting wine storage, like in this dapper lounge that gains an intimate social aesthetic upon a round rug.
Art-like installations. A punchy accent sofa, an extraordinary chandelier, an abstract rug, and a single sculptural dining chair all placed within proximity of one another constructs an art gallery-like appeal.
Curiously colour-blocked. Covering curiously selected sections of the boiserie wall, this colour-blocked paint effect keeps the eye wandering and the mind wondering.
Set ablaze. Cutting from one side of the lounge to the other, a wide, linear modern fireplace flames a bright image of luxurious comfort.
Fresh and fluffy. Feathers and faux fur cheerfully soften a formal living room scheme.
Cool character. Building upon an exemplary background of boiserie and archways, this layered living room design includes unique furniture pieces and textural wall overlays to create a character all of its own.
Give it some gold. Lustrous gold accents warm a white scheme, adding luxury to the tranquillity.
Swags and tufts. If you want to build utter opulence, say it with curtain swags and tufted upholstery.
Understated elegance. Just a few fine pieces can say a lot.
Dripping with style. Living room pendant lights hang like jewellery from the ceiling of this stylish living space, where a unique tufted sofa curves to greet them like a coy smile. Marble coffee tables nest in front under contemporary fluted texture.
Colour riot. Too much formality is not good for creative souls. Creative homeowners will find joy and greater comfort in a riot of colourful home accessories, wall art, an eye-catching accent chair, or a casually curved sofa.

Appreciated for their timeless appeal, smooth cream and warm white home interiors exude grace and upmarket style. A soft overlay of cream, warm white, and beige allows exquisite, intricate designs to move charmingly to the forefront. Light walls present a clean aesthetic, leaving wall panelling, crown moulding, central ceiling roses, or architectural archways to place the decorative icing on the cake. Coordinated pale furnishings with interesting silhouettes put poise before colourful impact. Modern light installations drop in slices of stylish influence, without upsetting the delicate visual balance. Here, we’ll look at two chic, creamy white interiors, one with a neoclassical approach and the other a chic modern abode.
A large area rug lays down a soothing blanket of cream beneath the living room of our first home interior. The light base complements creamy walls of traditional wainscotting and a decoratively moulded cream ceiling.
Whilst a modern cream tufted sofa design melds gently with its colour matched backdrop, a black accent chair drops a dark anchor in the ethereal scheme.
White marble coffee tables are streaked with striking dark veins in the centre of the light living room, creating a naturally patterned impact.
The dark vein in the marble draws a connection with the large black TV screen in the living room, which is displayed within an elegant archway. A black and white zebra print lounge chair gives a characterful twist to the refined lounge furniture arrangement.
A curvaceous side table by the sofa complements the recessed archway within the wall panelling.
The open plan lounge flows directly into a spacious kitchen design with a dining island.
A white marble kitchen countertop crowns the prep section of the island, whilst the dining table portion slides away in solid timber.
A modern wall sconce punctuates the creamy white wall behind the dining island with a stark black frame.
Inside the neo-classical bedroom, modern furniture counterbalances a scene of classic panel moulding and intricate ceiling scrolls. Sheer white voiles billow at the windows with a romantic air.
The upholstered bed features an extended headboard design, which provides a cushioned background for two contrasting bedside table designs. A sleek white marble panel adds another luxurious layer behind.
The master bedroom boasts a private dressing room that is lined with custom made wardrobes and marble shelving. A built-in vanity table fits in around the window at the head of the narrow room.
The luxury bathroom comes alive under stunning marble wall cladding and a matching vanity area.
The second double bedroom in the home is a fully-fitted space with floating wardrobes and a bespoke bedside unit. A unique bedroom pendant light drops a single dark accent into the creamy white decor scheme.
A kid’s room is energised by a heavily patterned rug and a visually warming upholstered headboard design.
Our second featured home interior is a smaller abode with a more minimalist approach. The modern living room is simply furnished with a tufted sofa, lounge chair, and smooth wooden coffee tables.
The round coffee table set stands on a bare wooden floor. A projector wall completes the streamlined lounge look.
Rounded edges shape a modern wall mounted media unit, which curvaceously compliments an arched doorway into the hall. A vase of flowers brings a sudden splash of colour to the warm white home interior.
A mini pendant light provides task lighting at one end of the floating media unit on the projector wall. A small olive tree flourishes in front of a warmly wood-panelled wall.
The lounge is separated from the neighbouring dining area by a low room divider with smoothly curved edges.
The room divider conceals storage cabinets inside, which serve the dining room.
The two wooden dining chairs at the modern dining table are the iconic Easy chair by Pierre Jeanneret. A modern dining bench furnishes the opposite side.
Spherical pendant lights drop in a duo over the dining table, their solid white shades cleanly coordinating with the floor lamp in the adjacent lounge area.
A guest room doubles as a second sitting room when house guests are not present. The modern sofa design opens out into a bed. A wall of rich walnut wardrobes provides the compact apartment with an abundance of extra storage.
Another olive tree is potted by the window of the guest room, where it can benefit from natural sunlight.
Vertical window blinds diffuse the bright daylight. A soft beige throw offers a cosy spot in which to sit and gaze out at the view.
In the master bedroom, a panelled and slatted feature wall is fashioned behind a pale blush upholstered bed. A beige knitted throw warms the food of the bed.
The dressing table slots neatly into a run of bespoke wooden wardrobes.
On the opposite side of the bed, a unique round bedside table displays a decorative amber glass vase and a white cube candle.
A modern wall sconce directs reading light over the pillows.
