Let me tell you about one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. The friend who gave it to me bought it in bulk on Amazon, and while that might sound impersonal at first, I’m actually thrilled to know that so many other people in her life are enjoying it as much as I am. Without further ado, I present to all sleepers — especially the uneasy, light-sensitive, and globe-trotting varieties — our Best List-awarded-winning sleep mask: the FRESHME Handmade Cotton Sleep Mask.

For most of my life, I’ve preferred waking up with the sun instead of using blackout shades. I’ve never really minded a few rays of moonlight spilling in through the window or the vague luminosity of a city that never sleeps (even if I’m trying to). Well, that was before I stayed with a light-sensitive friend who regularly gifts her overnight guests their very own FRESHME sleep mask just in case they like to sleep in darkness, too. An impressive hosting gesture for sure, but I admittedly didn’t use my mask until I found myself on a noisy, long-haul flight a week later. As a last-ditch effort to get some rest, I slid the mask’s fine-knit organic cotton softness over my eyes and experienced all that my friend (and the more than 7,000 five-star reviews on Amazon) raves about.
Of all the sleep masks I’ve tested during my years as a shopping editor, FRESHME’s is the only one that made me sigh with instant relief. At 4″ wide, it’s designed to cover your entire eye line, including all of those tricky facial contours where speckles of light seep through other masks. The adjustable back is just as comfortable as the front thanks to strips of thin, surprisingly soft velcro, and since the mask also covers your ears, it muffles and decreases detectable sound. I’ve even customized the tightness to help relieve a few pressure headaches — it really works!
I now use the FRESHME mask on every flight I take and in every hotel or home I stay in (including my own). It’s upgraded my nights from decent sleep to indecently deep sleep, no matter where I happen to be. And it’s, without a doubt, the most comfortable blackout eye mask I’ve ever tried. Sound like a dream that’s too good to be true? I recommend you grab one (or a few!) of your own and experience the comfort for yourself. Personally, I’m taking a cue from my super-hospitable friend and buying them in bulk to give as holiday gifts this year. And of course, I’ll always have a few on hand for overnight guests.
Buy: FRESHME Handmade Cotton Sleep Mask, $24.98 (normally $30.99)

I’m a house shoe fiend. The fluffier, fuzzier, funnier, the better — an opinion not necessarily shared by my chic fashion producer housemate. She has advised me that there comes a point in our civilized lives when owning a nice pair of slippers (as opposed to pink bunny ones, apparently) becomes necessary… a prerequisite to adulthood as integral as the 401k, it seems. As we transition from winter to the warmth of spring, it was nearly time to store my beloved shearling stand-bys for the season, so it was kismet when Casper recently launched its brand new Snoozewear collection, complete with a housecoat, eye mask, and the minimalist micro-suede slippers that now guide my every step towards the new, sophisticated me.
Adopting the Casper slippers into my WFH wardrobe hasn’t involved a single sacrifice on my part. I still get everything I actually want in a house shoe, even without bunny ears. The slippers have a micro-suede insole that feels like cashmere, just without the same high level of insulation. They’re immediately soft to slip into, they wrap around and hug your foot — no toe-curling to keep them in place — and are supremely temperature regulating. It’s as if the micro-suede senses the fluctuation of body temperature and reacts accordingly, retaining or expelling heat as necessary. I don’t sweat when I wear them, nor do my feet get chilly.
What’s more, they make each step feel like you’re following a breadcrumb trail of mini Casper mattresses. These slippers are designed with Casper’s ultra-soft foam quilted into the insole, so they’re surprisingly soft and supportive for how thin and flexible they are. That’s why they’re so easy to pack, too, so they come with me wherever I’m working from someone else’s home. They don’t succumb to the pressures and contortions of being packed in an over-stuffed carry-on, so they look good as new when I whip them out after a long-haul trip.
One tip I have when grabbing a pair of your own Casper slippers: Pay close attention to the sizing, as they can run a bit small. If you’re closest to the largest numerical size in the range (i.e. a medium is listed to fit women’s sizes 8-9 and men’s sizes 7-8), I recommend sizing up to the next letter size. Other than that, I guarantee you will find the Casper slippers to be a seamless addition to your transition, WFH, and lounge wardrobes. Bunny slippers still have their time and place, but these Casper slippers are the ones that cover every base, all year-round.

Working from home has meant a total change in workwear for many of us. While comfort is still key these days, looking (but especially feeling) put together is just as important when it comes to productivity and performance. I’ve tried a number of wearable blankets over the years, but this one is by far the chicest among them. Its part-shawl, part-lapel neckline makes me feel sophisticated during Zoom calls, movie nights, and early mornings. It even (rather ironically) gives me a little extra motivation to get out of bed, since I can go from cozy comforter straight to my Blanket Robe and feel good about my choices.
The Snoozewear Blanket Robe has a gender-neutral kimono-style design, with batwing sleeves that make movement easy yet don’t sacrifice coverage. Its shell is a soft, brushed cotton, and the down alternative fill is evenly distributed throughout the classic quilted construction. It’s seriously lightweight, especially compared to other wearable blankets and housecoats. Not only is it super easy to care for (hello, machine washable!), but it really is super soft, and its high-quality materials and construction make me happy knowing I’ll have it for a long, long time.
I opted for the Indigo colorway, but the Blanket Robe also comes in Oatmilk — a beige — and White. The best part for me is that it doesn’t pick up cat hair like every other textile I own seems not to have figured out yet. Tailored and polished Casper’s is my new standard for work-from-home-wear.

You know how the old, well-known robe adage goes, right? The one that says a good robe isn’t very hard to find? No? Well, that’s because I made it up — but I have every right to. Somehow, between 10+ years of being a lifestyle editor, a pro bridesmaid, and having a known penchant for cozy items, I own… a lot of robes, most of which have proven their worth in my closet and dresser. My husband strongly disagrees, insisting I can’t possibly need that many (to be fair, they do take up some serious space). But I just love robes. So when I tell you that Kassatex’s Spa Luxury Robe is truly great — perhaps the best of the best in all that I’ve tried — you’ll want to listen up.
Kassatex is an elevated home brand that’s beloved at AT — our editors can’t say enough good things about their bath towels, hand towels, and sheets. The consensus is that their materials are incredibly soft, sturdy, and stand up to tons of trips to the washing machine. But what about loungewear?
I quickly found out that the Kassatex Spa Luxury Robe is not your average robe. If you’re looking for something delicate or sheer, this isn’t what you want. But if you’re looking for a robe that’s exactly like one you’d find neatly folded in a luxe spa just waiting for you after a treatment, you should add to cart now. It’s a grown woman’s robe, to put it mildly. It does not mess around. It’s a slight investment robe, if you will, at $100, but well worth it for a nice upgrade to start the new year off on a chic, warm foot. It’s very structured and durable, with a stylish collar and sash that show off a bit of the super-absorbent, comfortable terry lining. The hem hits me around my lower calf, so it’s almost full coverage, which is perfect for jumping into after a shower on a chilly night. And because it’s so breathable, I can wear it year round.
When I did my first test-drive pre-wash, I noticed that the microfiber exterior material was a little stiff; after washing it a few times, it was still just as structured and durable but a bit more cloud-like, too. I found myself reaching for it every night, and as I sat on the couch watching TV or working on my laptop, it even made that experience feel a little more special — like I was an actress in a Nancy Meyers movie who also happened to be watching TV or working on her laptop. It’s just that statement-making. Perhaps most importantly, it has roomy pockets, as all great loungewear should. And while it comes in four pretty colors, I stuck to classic white for a crisp look.
Do yourself a favor and gift yourself a New Year’s robe upgrade, feel like one of Nancy’s leading ladies, and take a trip to the spa in your own bathroom — all with one garment. I might be forced to downsize my robe inventory very soon, but this one will never leave my closet.
